Windscreen Top Edge Trim

Post by rbgosling »

Some may recall that, when I had my car repainted a couple of months ago, the painter removed the trim along the top of the windscreen, since I promised I could buy a replacement. Turns out SJ sportscars list it, they just do not stock it :x

Anyway, after saying that he'd lost the old trim (which was beyond re-using), he eventually found it again. He just put some mastic-like filler in the gap, so the car is good.

So, if anyone is curious what it looks like, it looks like this. If anyone wants the old one (so they can take measurements) I'm happy to send it to you, I'll hold onto it for a few weeks in case of interest, then it'll be binned.

The saga is mixed up in this thread.

Thanks Richard, if nobody wants it then I think the club should keep it so we can evaluate the possibility of getting new seals made to the same pattern.

Happy to wait until the NEC or whenever if it’s ok with you.

Cheers, Richard

I will be ordering something shortly that may work as an alternative, not exactly the same but hopefully close and is cheap and readily available. Will update when the time comes.

OK, I'll hold onto it until the NEC then, depending on the outcome of Alan's investigations.
