Excel bonnet opening tricks??

Post by LotusMonkey »

Hi,

My Excel bonnet will not open on the passenger side. I have seen posts on the forum talking about applying weight while pulling the lever, pulling the cable behind the glovebox directly (it is connected at the lever). I have also tried tons of lubricants, and even stripping a small section of the cable behind the glovebox to pull the metal inner directly. All have failed. I even tried wedging some metal through bonnet gaps to try and push the tab on the catch directly.

I understand there is another method that is not posted publicly on the forum for security reasons (completely understandable) but how can I get this information? All ideas gratefully received as currently I cannot get in the engine bay, and spent 4 hours trying today!

Thanks, Duncs
