Elite rear bumper gaskets

Post by Pete Boole »

Does anyone know if you can still get the thick white gasket that fits between the bumper and bodyshell around the rear light apertures?

I've been wondering about these also. Not seen the actual part anywhere, but was going to search the restoration show back in March for suitable foam, but then.......
I was thinking that the pads you can buy to kneel on might have enough compliance and be thin enough to do something with.
Be interested if others know a source for actual gasket.

Pretty much any closed-cell foam will be OK if it's the right thickness but it would be nice to just buy some! The advantage of making your own however would be that you could make the overall gasket bigger so that the narrow part (like the factory item has) would not distort quite so easily.
