It looks like this Eclat has automatic 2 point belts in the rear https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lotus-Eclat- ... 3550037290
Does somebody has a source for them which will fit properly without any modifications in an Eclat? all I could find are manual adjustable ones... but I dont want the look of flying belts at corner speeds on Lotus levels.
Thanks
Don
Rear seat belts Eclat Elite automatic?

Re: Rear seat belts Eclat Elite automatic?
I investigated this for one of my Elites but never resolved it.
From memory I think the automatic reel is a particularly compact item, more so than current aftermarket items, which is why specialist Lotus suppliers tend to offer the horrible fixed versions.
I was advised that the best option is sourcing used parts from a breaker, but after this length of time they may not retract as quickly as they once did.
And obviously in this day and age they are more of a period-correct ornamant than serious safety device, unless the ultra reclined seating position of the 4 seaters really does offer advantages agaisnt whiplash or submarining in crash situations.

You mean from an Eclat/Elite breaker or other models?
Thing is, all seat belts are very old now and most have to be changed if you want them working properly in the case where you need them.
I my view the fixed versions doesn't suit the appearance of the car. But yes, I don't know wether there is enough room for it.

Are they not just a standard kangol seat belt reel without the third fixing point?
Nothing is fool proof. Fools are clever!
