Door Wiring loom
As I am rehanging my doors, I should ask, does the wring loom pass through onto the door on the outside of the door beam. When the car arrived it was inside, but that does not seem right.

Re: Door Wiring loom
I seem to recall it clipped to the bottom of the beam.

Correct. Clipped along the lower edge of the door beam.

Re: Door Wiring loom
But does it pass into the shell of the door round the outside of the hinge into the door or the inside?, the outside makes more sence as there appears to be a cutout for it, but when I got the car the doors had been thrown back together for transport and they passed through on the inside and the loom had been pulled out of the wing past the tape!

Re: Door Wiring loom
My loom comes out of the inner wing, around the outside of the hinge between the door skin and the hinge, it is then clipped to the bottom of the door beam as mentioned.

Ps, both my doors have been off more than once so might not be the correct way, but, Ive never had a problem with the wiring........ Yet.

Re: Door Wiring loom
If I could post a pic I’d show you on my car where I’ve recently replaced both door beams.
The door wiring loom hugs the A post and then into the door.
If you send me you email address I’ll send you some photos.
Regards

Re: Door Wiring loom
A couple of pictures of the cable routing on my old door beam before replacing. Pretty sure this as Lotus fitted it ( but without the rust and mastic )
This one shows well the entry to the body ( behind all that mastic gunk.
