In the latest missive from the organisers it states "You are not permitted to lend any part of a club stand to any commercial company...", which pretty much rules out having LotusBits on the stand anyway.
Correct but they are club members too, and they do not openly trade on the stand

Took some pictrures at the show yesterday (Friday). Didn't bring my tripod and the light was a bit dull but here is what I took.
Very busy on Friday morning as you can see from the pictrures.

That looked like a very nice stand!

Hi Pete - is your car fully painted already?

Neil.

Yes it was a great show - huge thanks to Pete, Matt and Mark who brought their cars making an impressive, informative and instructive display. Thanks to Farmer Richard for organising (hope you’re enjoying your holiday Richard), to Phil for his great array of pictures, and to those who helped on the stand.

Cheers, Richard

Yep - some disappointing blistering on the wings but they will have to wait for quite a while - other than that it's ready to be reassembled as the project rolls on (at its usual glacial pace!)

Our stand features on Grand Thrift Auto Auto's You Tube channel! 8). "Resto Show 2024: My 10(ish) favourite bits". Features after about 11 minutes in.

Thanks Pete - will have a look at that video!

I'm too scared to get painting before I've got most things fitting in place - I can see major paint damage otherwise.

Neil.

Looks like the Excel being auctioned didn't sell. It shows as a buy it now price of £8,650.
The gold Elite looks to have sold for £15,750.

The Excel reached £6k in the auction, but as you say wasn’t sold.

Did the gold Elite look as good in the flesh / close up as in the photos?

In a word - no.
Anodised trims were wrapped, a few minor paint blemishes, but biggest issue looked to be drivers door, which had dropped significantly. Window frames didn't look great either.
Alan and I reckoned it would have been a good buy at £12K. Particularly as it's done very few miles in last10 years.

Don’t forget the driver’s seat stitching had split on one seam and not long from some of the other seams letting go.
The rust coming out of the UJs on the drive shaft.
The powder coated, rather than polished wheels
Shot door seal from the problems with the door shutting due to the hinge/beam.
Delaminating windscreen.

I would describe it as a 10/10 car
Great from 10’ away or driving passed at 10mph.
