Donington Historic Festival 1-2 May - CANCELLED

Post by richardw »

More in hope than expectation, I have applied for a club display at Donington this year. Once I have details of how to book in club cars, I’ll post them here. I hope that there won’t be restrictions on visiting the paddock area and that catering will be open - let’s see!

Meanwhile more info at www.doningtonhistoric.com

Cheers, Richard

I could be able to make this one, assuming it goes ahead as planned. Better remember ear defenders for my boys, they found some of the racecars a bit too noisy when we went a couple of years ago!

I bought a ticket last year which has been carried on to this year. It was booked through Club Lotus but see you there.

Looks like a good event. I was thinking of going anyway so this has made up my mind.
What car is that?

Great turnout guys! I’ve provisionally asked for space for 5 cars but I’m sure this can be increased if anyone else want to come along.

Hi, if our own hovercraft club of GB race meeting is called off and this event is still on I'd like to join in as its local for me and you guys can get to see my new upholstery.

HCGB like everyone else just don't know where we are all going to be at by May.

Here's hoping that it can still go ahead - you can access booking information and the club discount code for registered members here:

Good news - the festival is going ahead - booking instructions on the thread linked in the message above.

Here is the message from the organisers:

https://news.donington-park.co.uk/state ... march.aspx

If there are any tweaks to format etc. needed under the covid restrictions, we will be making a statement about that when we have details from MSV, who operate Donington Park, but the event will be happening on the existing dates.

Cheers

Just booked family in for Saturday, by phone, no problem. I've never heard "you are number one in the queue" before in this lifetime. Look forward to seeing you there, (not with my car sadly). Are we allowed to bring biscuits? Jeff.

I'd love to go to this but I'm committed to waiting 'til I've had my second jab before venturing out :(

I'm trying to book for Sunday but when I get to checkout it keeps saying I've got a Saturday vehicle pass (but Sunday visitor tickets). I'll try again tomorrow and see if it's any different...

If not I may just book for Saturday 'cos that's what the website wants me to do!

I switched between Saturday or Sunday several times but in the end I just booked the weekend. Not sure if I'll do both days, but keeps options open and with the discount wasn't too pricey.
TBH, I'm just thankful for the opportunity of finally getting out and about.
