Tony - do you want to meet at mine / yours and drive together to the rendez-vous?

Anyone west of Northampton want to join us?
Good plan. I'm only minutes off the A45 near Brackmills so may be easiest to start from this end. Plenty of time to finalise. Just got the small detail of a car that won't start at this very moment, but just got home and about to go out and see if I can find problem.

For all of you attending the Ollie Run this Friday, although I cannot be there personally I will definitely attend in Spirit.
It´s a bit of a long drive from Malaga.

May I suggest that someone is tasked with the job of taking photographs also at the meal when a kind person could put them on the Forum including names of the Forum members. It is nice to put a face to a Poster.

Will be at Newmarket services about 11:15 tomorrow all being well

Booked into a local B&B for the evening and will be at meal too.

I don't think I have met anybody on here before, so looking forward to it

Biggest run for the Excel since 2005, so fingers crossed!

Well keep our eyes open for you on the A14.
Richard and I should hit the A14 (from A45) at Thrapston around 10.45.
Looking forward to putting faces to many names. Memory is not my strong suit though, so be warned. If I default to just calling everyone Richard, forgive me 🙂.

For exactly that reason Tony, I will bring with me some name badges we can use at the meal!

See you tomorrow

Lovely photo (of my car!) - thanks Bash! You also win the award for the member who turned up in red trousers!

I’d like to thank everyone who came along - both members and non-members - for helping make it such a meaningful event for Oliver’s family. I know Mike Kimberley and some of Oliver’s former Lotus colleagues also appreciated our attendance and the cars that we brought. And we had a great dinner in Oliver’s memory at the Bird in Hand last night - great company and a really good pub with excellent accommodation.

Thanks also to everyone who took pictures - as well as Bash, Alan McKenzie has posted some on The Winterbottom Run 2021 page on Facebook. Look forward to seeing more!

Everyone seemed to think that this should become an annual event so watch this space.

Cheers, Richard

Terrific last couple of days and what a great venue the Bird in Hand is.
I'm certainly in for an annual event and thanks to Simon for planning the run.

A great weekend, and most importantly a fantastic tribute to Oliver. Thank you to Richard and Simon for organising everything, we're looking forward to the next one already. Ian and his wife had such bad luck with his cars and then with the Covid ping - I hope it all goes better next time! Did anyone manage to get any pictures during the evening or the meal? Here's some of my photos:

The drivers at Newmarket (except for poor Ian :( ) One for a caption competition?

I think that's the only photo I've seen with me and my red trousers in :D

Caption - is this the Ferrari owner's meeting?

A wonderful weekend to honour Oliver, as others have said, I'm sure he would have appreciated good cars, good beer and good company.

Thank you to Richard for putting this together and to Oliver's family for making us welcome. Also thanks to Simon for organising a wonderful spirited drive in the afternoon. I can't wait until next year.
