Club Lotus will be at this event. If you like historic racing, its the place to be. See Club Lotus News (latest issue - July 2020) for the booking code to get onto the club parking area and www.autumnclassic.co.uk for information.
Anyone interested? I plan to go.
Cheers, Richard

SO that was Like going into a parallel world I went onto an website to book an event that I can go to, in real life and not on zoom. Then I actually went out my way to see if it mentions COVID. But nothing! SO is that right we can go to motoracing events. I must be missing something

I went last year. It was a great day’s racing. If you’ve not been before, you can wander around the pits up close with all the cars.
I plan on going again this year.

Looks like spectating will be very limited. Just received this via email from ClubLotus
Just to confirm about the confusion re spectating.
The website states there will be NO PUBLIC Spectating. If you have booked to be on our stand YOU WILL be able to spectate the racing from our designated area.
If the club stand is in the same place as last year, it wasn’t a great place to spectate from.

I agree Alan, if all we can do is stay on the club pitch and not wander about, it's probably a non-starter for me. I haven't had any communicatrion from Club Lotus so will enquire tomorrow - their website seems to be down at the moment. I see that the Castle Combe event website now says there will be no general admission tickets this year.

Email came from AnneMarie Brien. I have emailed back to ask if we would be in the same place as last time as if so, I don’t see me going.

Had a reply back - stand location won’t be allocated until next week after the closing date for buying a ticket.
I’m deciding whether to take a chance and buy a ticket hoping either for a better location than last year, or maybe on the day some movement will be allowed. Not sure how they will actually manage to police it to prevent people wandering away from their area. Also as spread out over 2 days I would guess there will be less people there each day?
Richard - do you already have your tickets?

I've bought them but they haven't yet arrived. I can't see how the event can be a success if they don't let us away from the club displays. Didn't manage to call Anne Marie today but I might try Castle Combe tomorrow to see what they say.

Just spoken to the circuit - no general public admissions, and car club members will not be able to go into the pits/paddock area but may walk around the circuit and view the racing from there. I may not go as the pits/paddock are one of the best asprcts of the event. What a shame!

The pits and paddock are great to walk around and get up close to the cars, but if we can walk around the track and I assume other club stands, I think that’s enough to persuade me to go. 1 day will probably be enough though - unless I book in for both days and take Excel one day and Elan the other
