Hi Richard, just to confirm from conversation last week, I am happy to help man the stand, could probably do at least 2 days (maybe 3 or 4). Also if short on cars, mine can be available, not Elite or Eclat, but one of the first SE spec cars and ex demo for Norfolk Motor Company.
Iām also quite used to coping with PPE, infection control etc as currently spend all day in a mask in a clinical situation.

Thanks everybody for your support. As we are still short of volunteers and cars, I'm asking on TLF if anyone there feels like joining us. We'll have to make a final go/no go decision by next weekend I believe.

Absolutely - good idea. I'm not in the FB group so would you be willing to post something with a link to this thread?
Thanks, Richard

I live 30mins from the NEC and would be happy to drop my car (Early Excel) off on to the stand and then come and get it after the show. I could definitely attend the show one, possibly two days but would like to have a look around the show while there.

Thank you Darren - that is great news. Will be in touch as plans develop.

Just had a message from the organisers. We've been upgraded to a 'detached' 11x11 stand with space for up to 6 cars and 12 volunteers.
I will attempt to use my powers of persuasion on those I know; otherwise come on folks - we could have a wonderful display this year despite everything. And thanks again to those who have volunteered so far.
If the show is a bit less crowded than usual it will be much easier to look around.
Cheers

Guess that means someone else has already pulled out, to make that space available for us!
Fewer other clubs means more attention for our wedges!

Do they specify a minimum number of volunteers on the stand? Has that increased as a result of our "promotion" to a larger stand?

You're undoubtedly right about some clubs pulling out, Richard.
The recommended number of volunteers (not necessarily on the stand at the same time) is 12; there is no specified minimum.

They are setting the tickets allocation at 2 per car.

Where are we with this now? Are we still on? Enough cars and volunteers to make our stand viable?

Looks like we're OK. We have probably 5 cars (including yours) and I'm waiting for the contract to come through. Once it does I'll contact volunteers and owners to confirm attendance.
Cheers, Richard
