East of England showground - 25-27 May 2019

Post by amarshall »

organiser wrote: It is incredibly vital to the show that we have as many car clubs as possible in attendance because without "YOU" the clubs, there is no show....

We are proud to say that we have already sold 43,000 advanced tickets which should see us achieve the 70,000 visitors target over the course of the weekend.

Would your club be interested in attending the show... ?? here are a few details that will help you decide..

Each club will be required to have a minimum of 8 cars on display at all times..
We have allocated enough space to clubs to allow for a marquee and 8 cars.
Club stands would need to be manned from 9am to 5pm on each of the 3 days.
Each driver will be given a free access pass for both driver and car, passenger passes will be offered at £10 each for the day.
Club Marquees welcome, sell your club merchandise, and entertain new members....

Each club will be advertised in the event programme which will be supplied free each day.

There is camping on site which will be charged at £15 per day and access will be available from Friday the 24th May at 2pm. Electricity and water is available on site for campers.

The website for the event is http://www.internationalsportscarandclassic.co.uk
So - do we have 8 or more who want to attend on each day?

Each member must have one leg longer than the other.
Matching underpants required.
Members must find out if Henry the 8th was called henry what were the other 7 called.
Entry qualification for the car is the owners ability to nail a jelly to the ceiling.

!!!

The matching underpants requirement is ambiguous. Do we all have to wear underpants of the same pattern or must they match our cars? Having broken a leg, I'm fairly certain that one is longer than the other. As a practising chemist, I have synthesized an artificial jelly that can be nailed to any surface as long as the correct washer is used with a clout nail.

Ahh.... can't figure the Henry question eh ?

Sorry folks, being cynical just erupts occasionally. Has anyone been to this show, is it any good, and wheres all the money going... sorry its there again. Charging for your passenger is quite annoying, as is being manacled to the stand... sorry, its there again. Been on the website, they were right on the first line about there being no show without exhibitors. I need more practise about the requirement of the driver being able to juggle soot underwater before being allowed in too.

I think it goes (in reverse order) Henry VIII, Henry's dad, Henry VI part 2, Henry VI part 1, his dad, and so forth.
Somewhere in there is an Edward or two as well.

Ridiculous conditions. I certainly wouldn't be providing their show for them!
Kind regards

It's quite funny.
Everyone forgets about the poor partners who often get dragged along.
Oh by the way.... you have to devote 3 days and pay for the privilege of staying there so that will be £30 from your poor bored to tears partner.... who doesn't even like cars but endures your passion for your sake

My partner likes classics but those conditions would annoy her so she would boycott it out of principle.

Looks like a collective no from a partner perspective then. I tried to find a record of the International Sports Car & Classic Motorshow 2018 (for thus is the 2019 event badged), but I couldn't. Perhaps it is their first one. From the website they seem very keen - their event is "set to become the UK’s largest outdoor Classic motor show". At £25 per head for a show car weekend ticket. Hmmm.

It just says the stand has to be manned at all times - not by every owner. With at least 8 people present it’s not that onerous for one to be on the stand at any one time?

Guaranteeing 8 cars every day is a bit of a push for all but the biggest clubs I’d have thought.
