Tony - we'll be there on 31st (and the 10th!). July is looking up :D

Jerry - The mythical Pauline and I will be there - might run to a nice bottle of red :D. Unfortunately still not in a Lotus - glacial progress, as usual. What happened to yours?

Pete
We’ll due to the cam buckets on no.3 being shallower than would be ideal and different from the other pots at low speed they twisted and dragged and then snapped the cam belt. Strangely they were the same buckets that were in the engine when I bought it hence we think 3 engine failures. Luckily the last 2 times I’ve had forged pistons so no damage other than bent valves. I’ll discuss in more detail when I see u.

I might come and join you on a run around the peaks.

So does anyone know the area well enough to lead a run through some good driving roads?

yes me....... :D :D
MLOC used to attend the runs I did for the LDC/CLOG.......then decided they'd do their own and not attend the LDC ones......
Ive been doing them for 20yrs...........and still doing them........
mine were run off tulip maps tho'......so you could enjoy yourself at your own speed and enjoy the scenery (including POI's and Pubs... :D )
rather than follow the leader.....who could drive as fast as he could.

We're calling into the New Bath Hotel on Friday just to confirm our bookings/cancellations. Shall I book a table for Saturday 31st? How many of us will there be - who's coming on the new LITP dates?

That would be good if you can please.
Clare and I are in for the 31st.

Could you also clarify with them what is still heeded for the original date. They are currently holding 2 tables of 6, which is likely far more than needed.

Great, I don't know if I've mentioned it, but it would be great to take in Wynatts pass as part of the route

The problem with Winnats pass is that it's about as far north as you can get in the peak district and Matlock is in the south, but I'll have a look!

Not entirely sure if Im coming for the run but I do alot of walking in the area. Just a suggestion of a route but its entirely up to you lot its your holiday. Ive gone for the pretty routes with places to see or have short stops, driving around like my hairs on fire ( both of them ) isnt for me.

Matlock
Cromford A5102
right, B6056 winster thro to near to Haddon Hall,
left, A6 Bakewell
Ashford in the water ( worth a look )
Right off a6 onto a6049 Millers Dale thro to hucklow, Brough
Left, A6187, Castleton ( worth a look ), Winnatts pass
Right and right again to edale ( Slow but pretty ) to Hope
Left A6187 the a6013 Bamford to Ladybower res and then right to derwent res ( could be busy at the weekend for parking and nat all of the road is open at weekends )
Retrace steps to Bamford and then left to Hathersage, thro past surprise view and turn right just before Fox House pub
thro grindleford and Froggatt
Calver
Baslow
Past Chatsworth
Rowley
Matlock.

Plenty of photo points, and if I come I will park at the top of Winnatts and walk down to a point where I can get your photies. Should take a fair chunk of the day with suitable stops. Id guess its about an 80 mile trip though !

bash
Ps some of this is off the top of my head but its all places I have had a drive around but I tend to go where I know.

Sounds great to me Bash / Pete. 80 miles is around what we normally do on the run anyway.
