'Bronze' Richard? Mike Kimberly called it 'Championship Gold' last Saturday......(Andretti - Lotus 79, a couple of months before it's build date)?

Thanks for organizing a great line up....

Andy
It's rare to see a 'Gold' car that actually looks gold. In my head any time somebody says gold with reference to a car colour I just see metallic beige.
I don't think Merceds have helped through the years:

I think your car must be Bronze Andy, it's stunning and doesn't make me think of old Mercs. :D

Credit for getting Gary Mavers involved must go to Tony Donnelly, who invited him to the Elite 50th at Hethel.

I hope Tony can make the show - he has had a major heart op which meant he couldn’t go to the 50th itself.

Cheers Richard

50 years of the wedges - special artwork.
I would like to make a special mention of the artistic work carried out at no cost to the club by Graeme Jenner. His work which can be found at https://classiccarportraits.co.uk/ - have a look at the website, and one can see Graeme's enormous talent at drawing all types of Lotus - Elans, Esprit, Elite, Eclat, Elise and about 100 other cars in a unique style.

This photo shows the Elite S1 which he rushed to complete in time for the show. Image

In the next few days Graeme will be completing his drawings of the Elite S2 and the Eclat. For a very moderate price, he has mentioned to me, that should you want your car drawn, as he now has the basics of the design, he is able to easily change the colour of the car to match your own car colour and add some text which you can provide to Graeme.

I should also mention that earlier in the year, Graeme designed the 50 year tyre designs, again FOC, which one can see on the cars tyres.

There is a lot of work which goes into organising the stand, so thank you Richard, Stu, Roddy and all those that participated in putting this great stand together and running it. Marcus

A very busy at the Classic Car Show today

We were joined by Gary and Georgia of their Classic Obsession YouTube channel. Gary refers to it as an obsession, others may call it a saga, a story, but whatever it is called, he has released a new video today in which he completes the suspension rebuild of his car and manages to get the car to the show just in time. If the truth is ever found out, I guess that half the cars in the exhibition hall today were in pieces this time last week.

Image
A big smile from Stuart and Roddy - both of them formed a vital part in organiing and running the stand. The lovely shiny balloons were another reminder that the car was launched 50 years ago.

Image
John and Tony on hand to offer advise and chat to visitors and standing under "The Hall of Fame" signpost - how appropriate!!

I thought the collection of Elites on the stand looked magnificent and totally appropriate for the anniversary. Well done, all.
What car is that?

Wow! Very professional. Photos make it look as good as any corporate stand at a trade show, if not even better than many. Wish I could have swam over and seen it in person.

With the show over, Gary Mavers has posted a video all about the show.

There's a mention of his Elite on the club stand right at the beginning, then around 17:30 he brings the Elite up again while in conversation with the owner of a gorgeous Daimler Conquest Roadster.
