New Lotus Excel owner From Italy
Good morning. I am the owner of a Lotus Excel to be restored from a week. I will spend the winter trying to get her back on the street hoping for some help. Greetings to all.

Welcome Mauro, nice to get some more international members. Any chance of a picture.

Re: New Lotus Excel owner From Italy
Good morning everyone again.
I started work.
I would like an advice, if I ask for the Lotusbit or SJ machine parts via e-mail, do they usually respond? Unfortunately my spoken English is not very good.

In my experience SJS are very good at responding to email, plus their online store is excellent. If you phone them their advice is great.
LotusBits are generally not so good at answering emails. A phone call always works, and their advice is also great. It is difficult to order parts online from LotusBits.

Hello Mauro
The trim under the windscreen is in fantastic condition. The leather is prone to shrinking and distorting so keep an eye on it when you are back outside.

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it moist with some specific product.Grant H wrote:Hello Mauro

SJ immediately responded to the Email and I have already placed an order, LotusBit will have to call them.
Do you know this store?

Looks good to me. I too have an '84' car but have never seen the black front bumper inserts in a car of that year. There are real experts on the forum who will respond but might it be from a later car?

Re: New Lotus Excel owner From Italy
In that episode of wheeler/dealers, they bought a pair of elan driveshafts from what was Kelvedon Motors, the sales lady was Pat Thomas's wife. I haven't been there for years, but heard Pat had sold his garage, and was concentrating on parts sales from his nearby home. I don't even know if he still trades as Kelvedon. Perhaps someone as more info? Cheers, Jeff.

I thought it was Sue Miller, who mainly deals in early Lotus parts
