5v source for TPS?

OK Without thinking it through I've bought a Weber Alpha TPS for my Wideband Commander Air/Fuel ratio datalogger. The TPS needs a 5v reference source which is normally provided by an ECU except of course I'm not running mapped ignition or EFI. So I'm wondering if I could use a 5v car adapter normall...

Steve I can't remember if you had also uprated springs or is it only a change to adjustable dampers? Be interested to know what effect softening the damper setting will make. If your wheel and tyre combination are lighter or heavier than standard then this would make a difference ie heavier set up w...

I think the car belongs to one of out Scando fo...

PS I'd like to see 13 inch rims and F1 sized slicks...it'd look much better proportioned I think!

Has anyone ever fitted 18's? would they even fit? tyre size calc says: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html 205/50/15's = 215/30/18's :) what do we think? Oz. Can some one do a photoshop exercise to show 215/30/18 on an Excel? Think they might look like pram wheels with elastic band tyres? In ...

A problem with 225 on the rear is less effective grip compared to the same tyre type in 205....especially in the wet. The excel is still a relatively light car. Try getting the power down early out of a wet rounderbout with 225s on the rear..... I bet the next line of thinking would be ...I need a L...

^^^^^^what he said...you will run out of courage before you run out of grip!

and 205s are enough for a light car like an Excel ....a big plus for narrower tyres is you will go faster with less drag too (esp if you don't have aircon)!

My guess is that the car has been crashed at some point in its life and the outwardly visible damage repaired? The shell/lamination/gel coat is strong and of high quality (and much heavier compared to early Lotus) and I don't think this would occur from fatigue under normal circumstances. Or is the ...

Do you have agreed value insurance? 15 years ago I hit a car that, from a parked position, pulled out from the side of the road and turned right in front of me and I had no where to go. The ns front corner and front suspension/chassis was damaged...but the rest of the car was near mint. FJ wrote the...

they are addictive...but almost as expensive as a Lotus to maintain if you tune them. My current engine has cost £3.5k to build myself, the new close ratio transaxle cost another £1.3K. And you never get your money back but that's not why you have them anyway

Yep electric pump would be my choice if I were to go back to PAS. The only thing to bear in mind is that more amperage drawn from the alternator needs more torque and power to turn it ...you don't get something for nothing. I met this phenomena when swopping the mech water pump and mech fan for an e...
