Oh yeah,
The immobiliser is easy, just have a gurt big red switch with "immobiliser On/Off" written on it in huge letters, can't see an issue with that.

Re: Start Button
Ah, no, it's much scruffier than that one.
Decided not to use it for the starter cos I wanted to toggle down to start not up if you see what I mean!
Will take a pic tonight then!

Sprinting in the North
Hello,
I fancy doing a few sprints with the Excel this season, mostly around the NW so Aintree and the 3 Sisters, anyone else with an Excel do these, or recommend any other Sprints?
Cheers,
Sam

Re: Start Button
Oh yeah, I use the doomsday switch for the fuel pump, so that in the event of needing to stop everything a quick panicky flail should hit most stuff and turn it off! Then you may as well fit a proper isolation switch too, followed by a plumbed in extinguisher and then pull Tees on the outside, then ...

Re: Start Button
Hello, Don't forget you'll need the key for the steering lock too! Absolute doddle to fit, once you've worked out which wires are the start position on the key, although visit one of the motorsports places or car builder solutions for a lot less than £50, you can even get a plate with ignition...

Re: I bought the blue one in Cheshire
Powder coating wheels next on the agenda, tempted either by silver, powder coat chrome or a pale gold to go with the pale blue?
Anyone any thoughts?

Re: Hi all
Hello,
Good tale, I liked it, although it took a while to twig, I was thinking must be hell of a flash push bike to have six pots, and hell of a fall, I wonder if he lives near a ravine
Just a tip, don't mention anything with an Imp engine round here....

Loving that!
Is that Mike's kit, or collected parts? Also have you modified the fuel tank for the return feed or incorporated a swirl pot? Liking that a lot but think the tidying up and house keeping of mine will preclude going to fueley for a long time.

Re: Drag Area etc...
I wonder what it's drag changes to when the lights are up. Certainly watching the water pool and circlulate round driving in the rain indicated quite a bit of turbulent flow, which may be better, but probably worse. As for the hp to get to hold 100 there's a big difference between that and the hp ne...

Re: Drag Area etc...
Yerp, Cheers for the info, it feels like it's got more than 41hp...plus judging by the rep's face in the Merc this morning it's faster accelerating than some german repwagon too, I think the Elise behind me was dozing but he stormed the Merc too, all in controlled conditions on a closed circuit. Jus...

Drag Area etc...
Hello All, I've got an ace app on my phone that uses the giblets of it to calculate performance values based on actual measurements and input data, it's a damn cheap way of getting a datalogging system. One of my favourites is the bhp calculator, which is measured using the accelerometers, however i...

Re: I bought the blue one in Cheshire
Right, All serviced, new fuel line and cambelt installed, not as easy as a 924 cambelt, not as frightening as a 928, not as much to remove as an Alfa 33! The main part of the time was spent trying to remove things and avoiding undoing stuff, in the end I gave that up and just unbolted anything that ...

Re: I bought the blue one in Cheshire
Oh yeah, and the gearing, I always forget the gearing.... Lucky I've got a close ratio box waiting to be fitted when I can be arsed then! :D No problem with the Excel really, I think it had only done about 500 miles per year (if that) and so my driving 30 odd miles, some of which were "making progre...

Re: I bought the blue one in Cheshire
Looks like quite a developed Clan, but no great shakes to overtake a G15 two up. With all imp engined things it's weight weight weight, the lower the best and a second body is a significant addition to a 500kg car. Second to that it's who has the most horses, an on form 1040 is a great thing in any ...

Hello,
This is the one I've bought so is it possible to remove this thread to prevent the previous owner being contacted (and the prices of Excels being suppressed!)
