Re: Front Brake Caliper seals

Bryan They look correct to me to do the lower slide. You only need one for each caliper. There's a different certina bush for the top slide with has a metal ring bonded to it and presses into the caliper. Did you see the sliding steel sleeve on the web site you found? Service kits from Big Red don't...

Auction at NEC restoration show

We've got another Excel to critique at the NEC show in March.
Currently on eBay at £10k. Not sure if it is intended to withdraw from auction if it sells before.

Re: SA on EBay

He's very open in the description and sounds to me he's not at all bothered about selling as is. Certainly £7k is pushing it IMO.
That said, if he pays to have ANY of the work done, he won't recover the cost in a higher sales price.

Re: Top Gear Butchery

.Is it on the register? Last MOT 2010 SORN
It's on the register, but until now wasn't identified as the Top Gear car.
E112& E114 ONG were on, so I tried a blind shot on the MOT site and found it a year or so ago.

Top Gear Butchery

No - Not the underwater Excel!!!. Came across another last night where they'd created motor homes. Clarkson drove a sky scrapper on wheels, Hammond had a Landie and May drove this https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/sa166ghhut2qrizuc0xer/240222a.jpg?rlkey=fwy9yvl6hrjxdcr0q94yjroep&raw=1 Didn't see it all...

Re: Steering Rack removal

Thanks all for the feedback. I'd done a search on power steering, but got a lot of hits. Went back about 10 pages of 180 , but didn't find much. Good to see your link Sirclip. I'd have rung LB to speak with Dave, but it was a Sunday morning. The sense of euphoria though when it finally pulled out wa...

Steering Rack removal

Has anyone removed a steering rack from an otherwise fully assembled and working car? Manual dedicates 4 paragraphs, totalling 14 lines and culminates with the classic, old as time "Remove the two rack fixing bolts, Remove front road wheels and withdraw the rack assembly through the wheel arch". Wel...

Re: Anti Roll Bar bushes..

Sounds right to me, under braking the roll bar will be forced into the rear of the bush which is what was said, so that's where the solid side of the bush should be. I'm glad you've posted that. I read last night just before bed time and the grey matter just kept churning. But every time I came to ...

Steering rack wanted

Anyone got a variable spare steering rack in the garage they're ready to find a new home for?

Also the high and low pressure hydraulic pipes in usable condition.

Needing to widen my options for repair

Re: Anti Roll Bar bushes..

Where did you get your bushes from?
A split at the top (bottom) seems a good idea to me, but I'd still prefer no split - but then you could only fit by fully removing the ARB.
