I may be able to help you. I have a passenger side frame from a 76 series 1 that I'm probably not going to use.
I'll PM you with a few more details.

Re: Recommendations for rebounding fibreglass panels
Couple of picies. First is the near side door in need of biggest repair. The separation goes back as far as the light source mid way along the door bottom edge. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mmsg9jxzxcgd4fp/200401a.jpg?raw=1 This next picture is the off side door, that only needs rebonding from the wast...

Re: Elite : Kaizen, those small manufacture changes.
You're right Pete. Non Alloy hinges are brass - just did a small test spot drill on the hidden area of one. Hadn't realised until your post. Here's a couple of changes Lotus made to the inner Door mouldings. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6d9wmx5lqy1at26/200331.jpg?raw=1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/yfdzrqw...

Re: Recommendations for rebounding fibreglass panels
Thanks Pete. Door skin is already separate from the beam, so access is as good as it could be. That pliogrip stuffs a good price (as in expensive) on ebay, but then I guess cost per ml is no different to araldite etc. How does it mix? Picture on ebay seems to show a tube with screw top an two smalle...

Re: Elite series 1 wheel colour?
Thanks all. Battleship grey it is then. That's pretty much how I'd describe the colour inside the rim when tyre removed, so I'll see how close to that I can get. Regards the unpainted Ali, I like the sound of fine brushed finish. The Ali was (is) so corroded that getting it back to a deep polish wou...

Recommendations for rebounding fibreglass panels
Looking for advise / experience on rebonding fibreglass panels / skins. I have two areas in need of attention. 1: The bonnet near the plenum chamber has a strengthening fibreglass form running full width on the inside. Probably just need a good modern adhesive for this one as there is good surface t...

Elite : Kaizen, those small manufacture changes.
My rebuild is (was ) intending to use some donor parts from an early 1976 elite, on my April / May 1974 car. I keep coming across small design differences that were implemented by Lotus and thought they would be interesting to share on this thread. To kick off, lets look at the rear hatch window. I'...

all I need to know is how big they are.

Elite series 1 wheel colour?
Can anyone give guidance on what colour Lotus painted the alloys on early cars. I have some pictures from publicity brochures, which look virtually black. But with tyre off, there is a grey paint inside the rim where the sun don't shine. Interestingly, the series 1 Elite featured in Issue 6 of Absol...

Re: Elite boot lid "Push Here To Close" label
Progress update. Dingdong have confirmed they can produce a silver sticker with correct black Jackson Mn font. They will be sticky on the back, so will need to stick to the stricker or the stricker cover, but I don't see this as a problem. They could produce a window sticker, sticky side on the fron...

Re: Elite boot lid "Push Here To Close" label
Took some searching, but the font looks like it's called "Jackson Mn Regular". Found it on fontsgeek.com, but struggling to download it !! Thanks to KKV for providing the direction ( Sorry, don't know your name). Have passed info to Isaydingdong, so waiting on reply. Looking promising. They said the...

Re: Elite boot lid "Push Here To Close" label
Was getting late last night, and just getting a picture to load was a major step forward for me. Been playing again this morning and hopefully now a better size https://www.dropbox.com/s/5lnzhetgi2fdqzk/PHTC%20photo%20small.jpg?raw=1 Image of my "recreation" based on this - I said it was not a prett...
