Re: moving on

Both. Tapped out M8, then a bit of stud lock - and wind in TIGHT.
Only needs to hold whilst fitting. When removing, you're actually trying to wind the bolt even further into the plate.

I've made tee bolts for my seat fixings.

No more struggling with needing Gorilla arms to reach both the inside and the outside fastener.

Great work and nice result.
It's most rewarding to achieve these improvements, especially when the outlay is so little.
Next job?

Re: Odd Engine mounts

Sent you a PM Richard. Years ago I found a great guy in Ravensthorpe. Every MOT was an entertainment with a very realistic approach taken to Lotus ownership. You should have heard him when he failed my Elite on the rear brake pipes over the diff! He made it clear in no uncertain terms that he wasn't...

A few photo's of my N/S mount: - Not best views I'm afraid, but may help ( didn't want to upset the tester too much before he started :D ). https://www.dropbox.com/s/f200zg0t7zwkkpo/IMG_20211006_090300898.jpg?raw=1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/2fg23ia6yw8ax42/IMG_20211006_090251277_HDR.jpg?raw=1 https:...

Re: Odd Engine mounts

My cars in for MOT tomorrow.
The tester there is user friendly, so I'll try and get a couple of photos from underneath whilst it's on the ramp.

Re: refitting Engine and box

You can only leave the prop shaft out if the diff is currently off.
With engine and diff fitted, you can't get the prop in (or out).

Re: carpet replacement

Both front seats and maybe easier with rear seat bases out, but you could probably work around.
Likewise the centre tunnel trim, but that's not difficult to remove.

Re: Fuel Tank Breather

Likewise, tidied mine up recently when the bumper was off.
I needed to remove the large black pipe that runs to the middle tank top, then quite easy to pull the black pipe off and work the jubile clip in the open.
Much easier than I was expecting.

( I wonder if this topic now shows in active)

Re: Cooling Fan

You'll be unlikely to get far with a coat hanger I'm afraid. After much struggle, I just about managed to get some welding wire into mine, but it's almost impossible. The pipe goes from the top of the front tank to the bottom of the rear tank with 2 off 90 degree bends!!! When I had problems last ye...

Re: First job jobbed - 2 more found !!!

Very pleased to report my thoughts above appear correct. Got a new filter with seals and it was a smaller diameter than the old filter.!! So - wrong filter fitted and no seal resulting in severely restricted fuel flow. Since I got the car, I'd had a flat spot when accelerating around 2000 RPM. Bad e...

For the jets, it's just a ball with a small hole. Try a little descaler on the outside and just keep gently working the ball with the pin around. It should go lower.
If it's as low as it will go, could be someone's fitted the wrong replacement jet.

Re: Passenger Window, Front Caliper

. Mine are in a box, on a shelf, That's just tooooooo OCD for me. 😊 Many of my Elite bits are in various jars and plastic containers, scattered around benches, etc(and the floor). For a long while, I could have told you to the exact position where every nut, bolt and widget came from, but recently ...
