Crikey Pete - you're going to a lot of effort to ensure your chassis doesn't get covered in oil like Stu's - you do know that your chassis will now rust and all bolts will seize in place?

Re: Elite restoration begins!

So - more extreme project creep! :D The early cam housing covers are renowned for there capacity to leak so, as usual, I've gone for an extreme solution  This is a casting I've had made which I hope will permanently cure the problem: https://onedrive.live.com/embed?resid=26F9DA86489430FD%211035...

Re: New comer - Progress (edit)

The torque converter is very heavy - it makes lifting the gearbox almost impossible on your own (if you're weedy like me!). However - the main reason for taking it off is that if it shifts for any reason it will break the oil pump drive dogs inside the gearbox - lots of trouble! Stuart's brace looks...

Re: New comer - Progress (edit)

You'd be better to remove the torque converter completely before transporting the gearbox . Lovely Lotus-yellow bracket though!

I'm not sure if that fix is built in. I will enquire with Ashcroft's when i send mine in for overhaul.
Thanks Stu - let us know what comments they make about that.

Re: Automatic transmission hesitation

Yes - a very interesting thread. I'm in the process of fitting a ZF into my Elite, but with fuel injection etc. It will be interesting to see how it runs!

Re: Oil pressure sender thread

The advert says 1/18" NPTF. There is a subtle difference between NPT and NPTF in the thread form, but to all intents and purposes (assuming some thread sealer) they can be treated the same. To be honest I'm not sure if the casting is threaded NPT or NPTF, but that sender will fit ok. Good find by th...

Re: NEC Restoration Show 2024 - Discounted Tickets

Is the stand number correct? When I booked a slot for build-up day the lady on the phone told me we were on 3-090

Re: Anti Roll Bar bushes..

I've never seen an anti-roll bar bush split anywhere but in the vertical plane - usually the bit that abuts the chassis (and is usually flat) :D

Are you sure the ring with the protrusion that cancels the indicators as you turn the wheel is correctly position and not sliding/jammed?
That's what I was going to say!

Apparently there's a glitch in the system that stops you getting past the Add Card Details page - The lady who helped me - Dani - was really helpful - I suggest you phone her - the contact number is on the Voyage Control page.
