Re: ** SAVE THE DATE - Lotus in the Peak 2022 - 10th Anniversary **

I'm doing the classic run this time. Might book breakfast at Hassop but sometimes its quicker to just buy one when you are there. Yep, Carol and I are booking the classic run this year. I enjoy a 'spirited drive' as much as anybody but foot to the floor for 70 miles trying to keep up with Evora 400...

Don't forget to also book your tickets for LITP on the MLOC site - newcomers will need to register there.

Pete
And we need to make sure we all book the same run if possible 😎

Good stuff Shaun. Are they giving you any copies from the photoshoot for your own use?
Hi Kev, yes I got 50 photos in total! Not sure what I'm allowed to share at the moment but there will be quite a few.

Re: My Excel to be featured in Classic & Sportscar

Well, I had a different and interesting kind of day today with a photographer and journalist, taking photos and talking about the Excel for a buyers guide feature in Classic & Sportscar. The photographer took static and driving shots, all great fun and the weather was kind considering the time of y...

Re: ** SAVE THE DATE - Lotus in the Peak 2022 - 10th Anniversary **

Pauline and I may have found somewhere for us to stay - went and had lunch there today and plan to spend a night there in the very near future. It's called The Manifold Inn. A traditional English coaching inn. 20 mins from Cromford (near Matlock Bath) and 25 mins from Hassop Station café. 12 rooms....

Re: Rough cold running

Have you checked the brake servo one way valve Phil? When that fails it makes weird sucking noises. Mine had an air leak from the valve and it affected running though not the same symptoms as yours. Could also be the hose or hose connection at either end? Edit: sorry Phil, didn't read your last post...

Re: New Member

Hi David, welcome to the forum. I second the opinion that if possible you should drive more than one. A decent one should be great to drive, rifle bolt gear change, direct steering, instant throttle response and great handling along with decent ride quality. I've driven 6 Excels in the last few year...

Fantastic engineering Pete. Really elegant solutions to problems and I love the way you put so much thought into the details. 😎

Its not big money though is it. 12k is bargain basement for a classic in good order these days. You'll struggle to buy anyhing decent for that money.

Re: Rear Spring

I have a pair or Avo coilover springs and shocks that I am looking to sell. Fully adjustable ride hight. They only have about 2000 miles on them. I've gone back standard springs and shocks and was expecting an improvement in ride quality but actually they feel very similar :?
