Fault found - one of the fine coil wires has come adrift from the terminal. Probably happened when it fell out of the housing and I tried to push it back in. New relay fitted, though I suspect it may be the wrong type. If it keeps me going until the weekend when, with a bit of luck, the right relay...

Mine were replaced with Goodridge Braided Hoses about 10 years ago; mileage then was just under 50K.
Also had some of the metal brake pipes to the rear replaced as some corrosion was evident.

Yes it just tucks under the side trim, There is a velcro fastening near the front of the carpet to securely locate onto the floor.
I do have some (old) Lotus overmats which came with clips to prevent sliding under the pedals,

This is a plan of the driver's side front carpet I did for another member, dimensions in cm.. (Passenger side similar but reversed). The 25x29 bit extends under the seat.
