Re: Hampshire Meet up

Hi Robert, good to hear from you, we haven't met up for some time but it would be great if we did! I won't be able to make Castle Combe but I will be at Thruxton Curcuit on 25th June for a meet up with other Lotus guys. You can book tickets ( which are free ) through The Lotus Forums. It would be gr...

Re: Representing the third generation….

Where do you stop? Should you include the M100 too as it is a wedge, was built alongside the esprit using common chassis / body techniques so still could be classed as a third gen car. Well for starters the Elan is front wheel drive and has a 'non Lotus' engine. Comparwd to the 70s design based wed...

Re: Representing the third generation….

As an ex Excel owner and current Esprit owner I like the idea. Quite a few Lotus Enthusiasts I know are fans of the 'wedge period' of Lotus cars, myself included so to me it makes perfect sense. Getting together for events would be great and there are a lot of mechanical similarities so experience s...

Re: I've been seduced by the dark side

Interested to hear your thoughts on the GT3 compared to your Excel (and living with an Esprit in general). Why were you concerned incidentally? And does it get more attention? (I'm not sure it will tbh) If you have a look in the off topic section, I did a little write up on my first impressions/ co...

Re: Rear Suspension Spring mounts

Has anyone successfully fitted SJ's poly rear suspension top spring mounts? I fitted these a couple of years ago and couldn't get them to seat properly. I have been driving around like this ever since  but had another go today with no success. With the spring off the car, the poly seat fits n...

Re: Car covers

Im thinking of getting an indoor one just to keep it clean, any recommendations. I keep doing stuff in the garage that results in a big cleanup. Bash I have a very good quality breathable indoor cover that came with my Esprit, I won't use it so I'm looking to sell it. No idea how much it cost but c...

I've been seduced by the dark side

Hi all, a couple of months ago after 11 years of Excel ownership and 12 years on this forum I sold my Excel and bought an Esprit GT3. As those of you who were at LITP will already know, I'm not wholly convinced it was the wisest thing I've ever done but that's another story  The reason for this...

Thanks to everyone for yet again being such fun company. Carol and I always have a great time. And thanks to those who gave me enco...
