Re: NEC Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show 2020

No real news yet - we've confirmed our attendance to the organisers, but I'm concerned that the further restrictions being proposed by the Govt starting next week will be problematic. We just have to wait until the organisers can assess the situation.

Re: High Hydrocarbons

I'm not an expert by any means but could it be something to do with ingnition timing? If timing is unduly retarded you'll get incomplete combustion. This may improve when the mixture is richened slightly if the mixture was originally a bit weak to get reliable combustion.

Pure speculation!

Photos for Oliver anyone?

Oliver is still in his convalescent home and , in order to cheer him up a bit, why don't we submit our favourite photos of 'his' cars. I will then get a photo album made up with an appropriate dedication from the 'club' and the names of everyone who contributed (whether or not your photo was include...

Re: Elite restoration begins!

From what I see on the photos your box has a mechanical gear selector, no electrical quadrant. Also the throttle control cable from the box is a very delicate adjustment, I wonder how you will connect it to the engine throttle mechanism. You will need a transmission fluid radiator, try Mishimoto UK...

Re: Elite restoration begins!

If it doesn't work, look closely at your selector mechanism. If it's like mine, there is a quadrant switch that has its wires cut off that is used in some applications to indicate gear position. Use it to signal a starter circuit relay if the lever is in P or N and you have a cutout switch! Cheers, ...

Re: Elite restoration begins!

And if you successfully pioneer the fitment of a ZF box to an Elite chassis, that will be of great benefit to others!

I believe the Eclat 520 had a dash without side vents.

Looks like we're OK. We have probably 5 cars (including yours) and I'm waiting for the contract to come through. Once it does I'll contact volunteers and owners to confirm attendance.

Re: Castle Combe Autumn Classic 3-4 Oct

Just spoken to the circuit - no general public admissions, and car club members will not be able to go into the pits/paddock area but may walk around the circuit and view the racing from there. I may not go as the pits/paddock are one of the best asprcts of the event. What a shame!

Re: Castle Combe Autumn Classic 3-4 Oct

I've bought them but they haven't yet arrived. I can't see how the event can be a success if they don't let us away from the club displays. Didn't manage to call Anne Marie today but I might try Castle Combe tomorrow to see what they say.

Re: Castle Combe Autumn Classic 3-4 Oct

I agree Alan, if all we can do is stay on the club pitch and not wander about, it's probably a non-starter for me. I haven't had any communicatrion from Club Lotus so will enquire tomorrow - their website seems to be down at the moment. I see that the Castle Combe event website now says there will b...

Re: Indicator/dip switch

Hi Pete, I'm pretty sure it's off a Triumph 2000/2500/Dolomite/Toledo/Stag - it certainly looks the same. I don't believe it's off any other BL brand. I believe you want the 'modern' configuration of indicators on the left? Again not sure which of the RHD Triumphs used this but a quick trawl on eBay...
