Tracking
I've just had the tracking adjusted. WOW what a difference it has made, she now goes straight stops straight and goes round corners when asked! The guys at ATS were excellent, they pointed out a few probs underneath the car and were very helpful and admiring of the car. They also pointed out that on...

XCE 11
Seen him again...BRG on St Peters Street in Lowestoft (someone has to work there!) lunch time today.
I've seen this car around a few times over the years, a visitor to the area perhaps!

Re: New menber and owner
When I had to change the Servo I went through the dash, taking out the instrument binnacle.....You still need all those extensions & wobbly bits and fingers 18 inches long with extra joints.

Re: Members map?
The map is a good idea, only needs to give vague idea of the area/town we're in.

Re: Charity race experiance 18th Septemberx
It was 18th November, not September! lots of nice cars on view. Gorgeous Astons especially.
Saw a couple of Excels, not mine unfortunately, but no one around them. Esprits & Elans &7's too. Someone had an Austin A35 with 310 BHP apparently, which looked rather scary on the corners.

Re: Help with timing please
Just had the carbs apart, cleaned all the unmentionable grime out, back together & on the car. Too late now to start her up, or at least try to. So I'll try that another day....Fingers crossed.

Re: Help with timing please
Hi guys thanks for the replies. The car starts fine, and will idle reasonably happily, with the timing at 10deg BTDC. Ask it to run a little faster and the ignition retards very quickly, whether vacuum is attached or not, disconnect & block the vacuum & she coughs & stops straightaway, warm or cold....

Help with timing please
I mentioned earlier a problem with the running of my '86 SE. I think I've narrowed it down to an issue with the timing that I do not understand. The car starts easily & idles fine, however the timing RETARDS when the RPM increase. Unhook the vacuum and it gets worse & coughs & backfires & dies. Incr...

Something is wrong
Help.... Something has gone wrong. Driving home happily the other day when my '86 SE started to misfire, then it died completely. I had some pops & bangs from underneath then the engine stopped. It seems to restart easily enough but as soon as asked to pull away it dies again. Fuel pump is working h...
