Which Exhaust??

The exhaust on my 1987 SA is, I believe, supposed to be a Grundy system. However, when I needed to replace it, it was a S/S Peco-compatible system from Christopher Neil that fitted! Has anyone else had this problem? If I gun my Excel hard and, particularly, if the road is a bit undulating, I get a spasmodic rubbing sound from the rear as though the tyres are making contact with the wheel arch (I am running on 205/50*15 SP Sports).
