Or, you could fill the beam with expanding foam. Keeps the crap out and makes it composite structure. Did mine about 20 years ago and they are still good.

Ive got a full set of NOS dampers, I was about to put them on the car but I could be pursuaded to leave it until after lockdown if the club wants to pay for testing to get another set of figures, as long as I get them back in one piece of course. They should all be done on the same bit of kit though...

I use the Halfords ones and they are OK, although they dont always have the correct size ones in so If I see them I buy a couple for stock. By the way, if you keep an emergency spare in the boot and a tent peg puller you can fit a new one in seconds with no spanners or swearing.

Interesting that the Lotus wins compehensively on handling, on 14" tyres. A Lotus suspension guy once told me that he preferred the 14 " tyres.
