Re: Original Radio Cassette Player

Having removed a highly original looking, (but no longer functioning), Blaupunkt 'Denver' from my car it seems possible that there was some flexibility on the listed models.

Re: Front ride height of 89 Excel.

Is there any indication that the steering rack could have been changed on your vehicle? For one with a greater stroke perhaps?

Re: Glorious Goodwood

There was a red Excel on Speedlines in the supercar paddock at the recent Goodwood FOS. Spotted from a distance as we walked back to the car. Looked like a LHD car on white Euro plates (maybe French or Italian?).

Re: Trigger wheel / pick up bracket

Apologies for resurecting an old post, but Mr Locust's comment has intrigued me. Can I ask which system you are driving with the distributor-originating signal? My setup is fully mapped fuel and ignition with a Lumenition with C451 ECU. Original install appears to have been by QED. The distributor ...

Re: Which Oil filter

Nick,
Can you let us know how long the oil pressure startup delay is with the Mann 916?
Starting from cold after standing for 8 days; fresh oil change using Halfords 5W30 fully synthetic (Ford) and Mann 916/1. Oil pressure gets to full 2-3seconds after firing. Same as usual.

Re: Which Oil filter

In the end it is your choice but I don't particularly appreciate the implied tone. No implied tone or offence intended. I just wasn't about to spend any more time on a service consumable filter which cost less than £5. Especially when the retailer credited it in full against a replacement. W...

Re: Which Oil filter

You can adjust the thread in the oil cooler plate, it does remove and you can reverse it.
I spend half my life sorting issues in mobile hydraulics and engines. I think I'll pass on that idea and just use a filter that fits

Re: Which Oil filter

Important update : Halfords have changed the design and/or supplier of the HOF202 filter which I have used for the last 4 years (after they originally looked it up on their computer system as their recommended type). The thread of the revised design is more recessed away from the seal face and it w...

If your setup is Emerald based; are you seeing the status LED on the ECU change from red>green when cranking over?

Re: Loti appears to be knackered.

Normal behavior at ignition on for most engine ECU is to run the pump briefly to prime the injector rail then switch off if engine run condition is not detected.

Are the pump(s) running at key on?

Re: SP9000s

Did anyone go to 195/55 R15? It is a better match for rolling radius than 205/50 R15 albeit narrower still.

I have always found the 215/50 R15 Dunlop SP9000 tramlines more than I would like and spoils the steering feel. Does a narrower tyre give a better steering feel?
