Re: Lower steering uj pre 86

This is hopefully good news as my '84 will need one at some point.

Have used Dave Mac for years and have found them really good.

Min to Max on Dipstick

Hi,

I have done a search, looked the manual and service manual but cant seem to find the answer.

Can anyone tell me the volume of oil needed to go from max to min on dipstick please (912 LC if it makes a difference)

Thanks

Thanks for organising Richard - Good to meet you too. Lee has managed to fool you with his immaculate red with dark lower panels as his is a wide body SE but looks like an early Excel !
Mine is a narrow body LC but yours is the best of both worlds for me !!

Re: Flywheel & Starter Motor

Thanks Dan - I live in Leamington just down the road from lotusbits so I may call in see if they have one. Wouldn't want to borrow one in case my car destroys it like I think it has done to the Brise one I have just had repaired !

Re: Flywheel & Starter Motor

Thanks

Is the mark in the back of the bell housing in line with the starter normal ??

And does anyone have a spare serviceable std starter that they want rid of so that I can test ?

Re: Strange Starter Motor Problem 1984 Excel

Quick update - tried everything electrical and no improvement.

Sent starter to Brise who diagnosed a faulty solenoid and clutch.

Fitted it back on today and no improvement  !!

Does anyone know how many teeth the std starter pinion has please ??

Re: Strange Starter Motor Problem 1984 Excel

Still working on this. If I want to bypass the ignition switch will it be ok to momentarily connect the positive small connector on the solenoid directly to a 12v source just to eliminate the switch ?? I can then see if starter engages and continues to turn. My car is an 84 so I believe there is no ...
