Re: Damper bump and rebound

Ive only got standard 4 year old rear dampers but ive just bounced the rear and it hardly moved either. from memory my old excel had protechs all round that sj fitted and they set them at half way all round and that didn't bounce much either.

Re: Exhaust Rubber Mounts

I purchased some poly exhaust rubbers off ebay years ago. they were for the old school mini and as such are too thick so I cut down through with a saw so get two rubbers for the price of one. They were orange I think and are still on the car after 4 years. they fit better on the rear hooks but do fi...

Re: window frame time!

Fitted the rubber tape to the frame today, you cant really tell its there. Had the hose directed at the frame for 60 sec, no water leak. but some water was sitting on top of the seal on the sill, I seem to remember it did before but it doesn't spill over into the car. Still waiting for the rubber we...

Re: window frame time!

Quite a wind building this morning so went "shopping" to check for wind noise, frame flutter etc. Non of either  only some wind around the mirror after about 60mph so well chuffed. With regards to the gap on the frame just above the door at the rear, Dad found some self adhesive rubber "tape"...

Re: window frame time!

Tried the dreaded water test today. once finished, after about 5 mins there were a couple of drips on the seat edge. looks like water is sitting on top of the seal and then seeping past the frame.

Re: window frame time!

Yes, one from Angus last year. She was booked in to SJ in aug to do it but saved myself £450! Door fit is nice and tight all round except for the bit where the frame leaves the door iself for about 4" before being tight for the rest of way to the top. I did notice that I must have bonded the quarter...

Re: window frame time!

Window frame now in with new door seal. some of the square frame fixing holes were 1 cm off the beam holes and those that were in line needed shims. Not quite as difficult to get to fit but not easy either. Havent checked for water tightness yet until various sealants have dried. There does seem to ...
