Original Jack and handle for Excel

Hi All, just listed my old Excel Jack on fb marketplace. I'm asking £10 but for a member of the group I'll take £5.
I can mail at cost but given the weight probably not worth it! Collection preferred from Cranleigh or Guildford Surrey.

Re: Carb. woes

A real opus there Angus. Do I gather that Euro carbs got the screw out? If so how did they do it?

Re: Recommended glue for A pillar trim and wasteline trim

Hi there, use an acetoxy sealant for the waistline such as PU65. Bead size is critical as you need to lay one down along the inside of the trim such that it fills the void completely once pressed home but doesn't squidge out everywhere.

Re: brake servo

Hi check this link. I did the job with two problems, 1- the landy cylinders have one different pipe union thread so you will need an adapter and 2, the servo pushrod may need to be lengthened by half a turn or so. Re: Jacking points (again!)

Hi- I had mine made up by Isaydingdong on ebay. Very reasonable and you can specify what font/text size you want. I got a couple for the MGB too.- had a bad experience with a garage there too!

Re: Excel/Elite bits

Hi Again all, for reasons I am too stupid to understand all my PMs seem to be getting stuck in my outbox. Although all have "sent" times attached, they dont appear amongst my "sent" mails... So I have no idea if I have actually mailed you or not! Or possibly mailed you multiple times! However, If yo...

Excel/Elite bits

EVERYTHING NOW SOLD!!! Hi All, Having now sold my Excel :-( I have a variety of bits left over- obviously now surplus to requirements. Some are new but most came from an Eclat Excel that was broken a few years ago. The used bits were all working fine when stripped (not by me) but I can't test them n...

1984 car. Alternative drive belts

Hi all, Does anyone know what drive V belts fit these early Excels. I need the non AC versions of the PAS and alternator/fan belts. I dont want to set off to Hethel without spares and Ive left myself too little time to get them by mail-order (twit). But they are cheap items and Im guessing fit some ...

Cancelling tax

Hi all, just wondering as I've not sold a car since the road tax changed. Is the tax now cancelled and refunded automatically simply by returning the V5 with new owner's details or do you have to apply separately?
Cheers

Re: Front seats

Yes I've heard that and seen some pretty nice substitutions as well. Unfortunately my lack of imagination leads to a slavish pursuit of the original so I don't really want a substitute. I can see I'm going to end up biting the bullet and getting a recover/refoam.... But that will have to wait a bit!

Hi, does anyone know where Lotus sourced their front seats? Are they shared with anything else?
Thanks

Re: Braking bad?

Excellent, perhaps Im not quite as daft as I look eh. Bash Wouldnt know-How daft do you look? Thanks for the hint though- I needed a prod to tackle that rod- its easy enough to do, but you have to go against all the Girling warnings and being a law abiding citizen if I'm told not to fiddle with som...

Re: Braking bad?

SUCCESS!!! Yep that sorted the problem. I followed the advice given on the site by NickC "No need to drain fluid just unbolt the master cylinder from the servo and move it away a fraction. Then from inside the car, adopt Lotus position (the servo will be at it's idle position) adjust the clevis on t...
