Re: Cooling issues on 92 SE
My fans cut in at around 90° on my 88SE. There is a temperature switch in the pipework above the rad which control's the fans. Both should run. Check connectors on temperature switch. I think you can bypass the switch by making a circuit to test it. On the rad tank the first chamber is where you top...
Re: Propshaft
Hi all, Finally got car back together and road tested. All good at last. Think it was the uj's personally but also was not happy with the diff. The pinion nut was literally hand tight so got a speciallist to look at it. He replaced the oil seals for me and said diff was fine once he tightened the pi...

Re: Rear brake dust shields
Hi Andy, I treated mine with a rust chemical then filled the holes with fibreglass filler and painted with black rustoleum paint. They still look good 3 years on. I did have the hubs removed from the car as was replacing and refurbing suspension and bushes at the time but you could probably get enou...
Re: Propshaft
I inspected the diff carrier and found it was fine. Carrier bushes again seem to be in near perfect condition which is a relief because i'm not sure how you would go about changing the one's in the chassis with the body on! Harmonic dampers fine. Gearbox mount again fine. Think i've been lucky. By t...

Re: Propshaft
Yep that is what I had suspected. Visited my local propshafy specialist which is well respected in the area and they made some inquiries about the prop themselves. It turns out everyone was of the same opinion that the yolks should be in phase although they do know of some cars that weren't. Apparen...
Re: Propshaft
Lotusbits has confermed there Excel props are all out of line but don't know by how much. Will be getting uj's and balancing done at prop specialist and go from there as there is play in one of the uj's. Just want to be sure as it's the hardest thing to get to and don't fancy stripping the rear susp...
Re: Propshaft
I have the Speedline wheels on mine and have spent a few years mucking around with the basics even having the wheels checked and refurbished by Lepsons which is a wheel refurbishers with a very good reputation. Needed to do the diff seals anyway so thought i'd look at the prop while i'm able to take...

After having what appears to be a drive line vibration I've finally decided to do something about it. A couple of years ago I refurbished all of the suspension including new springs, dampers, bushes, ball joints, track rod ends etc with lots of cleaning and spraying/painting of various parts. Althou...

Re: Main fuel line
Hi John, I've replaced my fuel line from the carbs and put a joint in the chassis area beside the gearbox using the above mentioned fitting and high pressure fuel line from my local motor factors. I am eventually going to replace all of it but am holding off till I can start the refurb on the rear d...

Understandable some people left earlier as it was a long day. It was nice to meet a few of you, would have been nice to stay around and chat for a while and meet some more people but the wife and kids were getting bored so we walked around and watched some racing
