Re: Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show 2021

I'll just go with something close to the original. ..... As your Mrs is handy with the needle and thread, get the standard woolies covering and sew a backing piece of material (curtain liner or muslin type) to it. Sew in lines every 10 cm to create the pleated padded look. It comes out nice https:/...

Re: Parts In Motion - buyer beware!

I had a similar incident with an Ebay Battery shop. I searched for the car model and year and got a hit for a battery. Fits 2006 Suzuki Grand vitara. I then put the details into the vehicle check tool and got a yes confirmation. Battery ordered and it was of course too large a terminal. I told them ...

I'm guessing that the warning light is an MoT item.

Bill
Not sure if it is but I would follow your assumption. However, it can be easily be cobbled to bypass for an MOT test

Re: Hall sensors

Scarey suggestion. It doesn't need to be outside. Is there scope to rig something inside. I've seen chain driven engines with the cog mechanism inside🤔

Re: Hall sensors

I would say yes, as the starter has its own magnetic field and you may cause saturation.

That is a layman's thought based on what I read on google 3 minutes ago.

Re: Fog light activation causing headlight pod vibration

Bad earth - is definitely a good shout.

There is a commonality in the FHC (front harness connector) - pins 1; 2; 3 and 4 for retraction relay and 11 for fog lights. Is there any moisture present?

Re: Fog light activation causing headlight pod vibration

Any sign the pods have been replaced in the past? There are 2 types so possible one is incorrect. They should be etched with the chassis number to confirm

Re: Fog light activation causing headlight pod vibration

I would look at the pod adjustment as the limit switch for fully up position may not be made and it is trying to cycle fully up. Hence applied pressure upwards completes the up cycle removing the command supply but is reactivated when released and sags down. Start by screwing the stay bar in for exa...

Re: New member - Excel SA

On lates this week so no call to night. You will need high speed movement in the specs as you dont want 10mm/second travel or it's a 5 second delay etc. You will need to consider the load value of the lever against the actuator Programmable ones with a controller. Rotary may be optional if you can g...
