Have a look if the body has cracked yet. I think it's not loose bolts, but poor body alignment /fitting that causes the creak.

Re: A door beam question.

Mine had the polystyrene filler piece. I belive mine to be original as the vehicle has only done 50,000. It's an '85 model so it might be Lotus saving money. The new remanufactured ones have a closed end, so it's definitely worth doing that. Also loose the foam padding around the door shell aperture...

Re: LITP 2021

Yep - you're in Jason :D. Well done on the MOT! Any advisories? Pete Advisories shmadvisories. Think the MOT inspector has given up with them. I did have an "oil leak from engine" once, I just told him it was a Lotus 😳. The same examiner always puts "no undertray fitted to vehicle" on Dawn's Suzuki...

Re: LITP 2021

Been in every café in Edale and Hope today. None could/would take a booking for 12 people. So we've booked us into the marquee at The Old Hall Hotel in Hope. Not perfect but the breakfast menu is good :D https://db5pap001files.storage.live.com/y4m6SKcfr4uUpVDBsbXsTgttRmQWqoZb8Awdy-rnGrGjXS5UWRXQLD5...

Re: LITP 2021

I'm thinking of booking onto Hassop Classic run as well. The 8.15 start time does sound appealing.
I see KevW and Tanz are booked onto that run as well; is anyone else?
I'm going to have to wake my Excel from it's SORNy slumber.💤

Re: Another timing belt question

Glad you're going down the blower route Pete. With your engineering excellence, it's going to be a sight to behold. Don't think you'll have a problem with the belt tension, but you could always fit a couple of snubbers like the ones used on the semi automatic tensioner. They would stop the belt jump...

Used to work on Volvos in the 1980's. The red block engines are bomb proof.

Re: NEC Classic Car & Restoration Show 27-29 March 2020

We have a number of expenses to cover as a club, now that we don't have the parts and merchandise revenue. These include the cost of hosting the forum until and unless we can move to another platform - I'm trying to engage Chris Hopper, our technical administrator, in a dialogue so we can decide ho...
