Re: Which Antifreeze?

I put Prestone in my Subaru at 50k miles, and when I blew it up at 100k and stripped it down it was like new in all the waterways. The condition of the big ends was less impressive, but unrelated. I just bought some Prestone today for the Excel to put in. The guy at euro said it is really good stuf...

Re: heater control cables

May I tag along with your post please.
Recently purchased Excel: heater levers move, just, it feels like I'm putting too much force into them and sooner or later something is going to break. How do I get to the controls, particularly where they seize please?
Thanks in advance

Re: moving on

Don't know if you've had seats out before, but for some inexplicable reason the factory used conventional hex-head bolts which are a bugger to try and stop turning with the nut - particularly if the nut is well rusted to them, which of course it will be. One or two I could only remove by angle grin...

Re: Ramps or posts

Nice group of cars, and loving the set up you have for storage. Tony Thanks, just shuffled around at the weekend, TVR up top, Lotus underneath and now taxed, Caterham over to the right on a trailer. Getting a bit difficult to work on anything though. TVR up for sale shortly I think. Don't tell anyo...

Re: Odd Engine mounts

Would someone be so good as to post a picture of the two standard mounts in place please?
The right hand side one on my newly purchased car looks to be correct bet the left hand side one looks wrong and I'm worried it's collapsing.
(Sorry don't know how to post photos myself).
Thanks

Re: Ramps or posts

Yours looks very similar to the one I had installed a few days ago Peter. Can't work out how to attach the photo. (Can anyone advise please.) There are a few of the TVR guys who have used a 4 post to do a body off job. Disconnect all bolts etc Raise entire car, Support body with cross timbers or str...

Re: Speedo VDO question

Late to the party but if there are any problems with VDO Speedometers, I can recommend JDO Instruments who recently repaired one for me. The only company that would take on a VDO instrument.
jdo1.com
John Ostick and Steve Sayers were helpful and very quick.

Seat belt, ash tray, wheel centre wanted

Hi, looking for a seat belt stalk, door mounted ash tray (cream) and Lotus badge from the centre of a road wheel if anyone has spares or can point me in the right direction for alternative vehicle source.
Thanks in advance, car is a 1988 model.

Re: Headlining fitters

I like that trim for the rear, does it push into the "gap" between glass and body?
I'm in the process of retrimming but using 4mm twin wall PVC as it's a lot more rigid.
