Re: Donington Historic - 3rd-5th May 2019

Hmm just tried booking for the Sunday; The checkout page applies £21 to the vehicle "display" ticket and another £21 for the "admission" ticket Is this correct, I thought the passenger only paid? Or was that for bookings before end of January? The 50% discount code works fine however by bringing it ...

Re: Rear seat belts Eclat Elite automatic?

I investigated this for one of my Elites but never resolved it. From memory I think the automatic reel is a particularly compact item, more so than current aftermarket items, which is why specialist Lotus suppliers tend to offer the horrible fixed versions. I was advised that the best option is sour...

Re: Stainless Steel brake bleed nipples?

I'm for stainless. Never heard of one snapping and they don't seize in my experience.

However have plenty of painful experience of brass flats rounding off. Best left in the 1960s IMHO.

If either happens its caliper off and time on a bench anyway,

Re: 215/50r15 back in production

Guys, tyres make or break a car in my view, both in looks, comfort and performance! Excels running slightly different sizes look pants TBH. Aftermarket wheels rarely look right either unless they are in extreme sizes to make a statement which will then also be expensive (sorry Kev). Given the lightn...

Re: [MW] Raby Castle - 17th June

Yep got there thankyou. Quite a muted display this year for some reason? Passed a few eligible cars going in the opposite direction, then someone said Beamish reliability run was on same day so that was 125 cars possibly missing from the event. The new layout also takes you further away from the gar...

I remember years ago seeing pictures online of a black S2 Eclat being unloaded at the docks in the USA. Chap selling had another one and an Altair Green Elite. Wonder if it was that one?

Re: Steering Wheel

I've fitted motorbike-style buzzers to the indicators in quite a few cars where. This helps when the dash lamps are hard to see and the cabin noise can drown out the "tick" from the indicator relay.

Just personal choice but cheaper than a new steering wheel, and I like the one in the Excel anyway.
