Re: Clutch Master Cylinder

Thanks for that. Google search led me to Amazon & a shop called “blue print” £32.00 ! And it looks identical to SJ’s. It arrived today & the casting looks like the original, similar markings. A Result.

Nice green Excel in Lowestoft, I’m sure I’ve seen you before. Are you local?

146 Barnby Bends

I saw a blue late 80’s Excel heading towards Lowestoft from Beccles on Friday 21st, looked very nice too on the bendy bit of road, ‘frail I wasn’t in mine at the time.

That's a really nice video, both you & the car come across very well.

Re: Making a new airbox accelerator cable bracket

Its a rather flimsy springy metal tongue turned over at the top, attached to the front of the airbag, stops the throttle cable flapping about under the bonnet, looks like steel, defo not aluminium.

Excel in Lound

As I was driving past (not in my Lotus) I spotted the distinctive shape of a late model Excel hiding under a cover on a drive in Lound in Suffolk. Looks like a red one with speedlines and it’s light pods up even though under a cover. I wonder if it goes?

Re: Door stuck shut

As above. We managed to rip the pivot tube off one of my door beams when it rotted and stopped the door opening.

Re: Hazards & Indicators

Spot on with the diagnosis ...thanks, I bypassed the earth directly to a good earth & all works fine...now just have to find the bad bit & fix it !

As a subsidiary question...anyone any ideas about removal/replacement of the indicator side repeater units?

Re: Hazards & Indicators

That’s an interesting thought, don’t suppose you know where that earth is to be found?
