Window frame puzzle

Today, after finally accepting that the temperature in the garage was (barely) tolerable, I made a start on the long postponed door beam replacement in my '86/87 SE. Unfortunately I have fallen at the 1st hurdle as the window frame refuses to part company with the door shell. It appears thoroughly s...

Re: Fluctuating instruments

A lot of my peculiar instrument fluctuations were cured when I found that the main earth to the pedal box was not connected. (This is from my dodgy memory banks as it was quite a while ago!)
Mind you, bad earths are always a good thing to check for....

Blue Excel - Inverurie, Aberdeenshire

Spotted yesterday on the Inverurie/Rothienorman road. I was going the other way and I'm afraid I didn't see you in that queue of traffic in time to even wave!
Anybody on here?

Cheers,

Re: New Owner - Aberdeenshire

Fit like? I haven't been on the forum for a wee while so have only just spotted your post. There are a few Excels in the area. Our local 'group' includes an immaculate white SE, just a mile or two outside Alford, and a couple of calypso red SE's, one in Aberdeen and mine out in Oldmeldrum. I spotted...

A timely post

Well, this lunchtime I thought the Excel was finally going to leave me stranded. The infamous turn the key and only hear a clicking relay under the dash. Had a listen under the bonnet but no sound at starter solenoid. Aha, I thought, I'm sure I have read about this somewhere on the forum recently. A...

Hi Peter, That's interesting. I'll check those bolts first chance I get. The rattling/drumming noise is really not too bad, just annoying me because it's there! Mechanically she's pretty much sorted so it would be great to get rid of this last gremlin. Probably just in time for the next one to come ...

Hi Dr-G, Yep, the Excel is pretty much my daily driver. She's in not bad nick for a 99.000 miler. At the moment everything is even working oh..except for the fan motor speed resistor pack. There are a few little niggles, exhaust rattles off the floor no matter how many times I adjust it, windscreen ...

Back again

Hi folks, Just a quick line or two to say I'm back. Been lurking for a few years since I sold my last Excel following a house move. She went to Sweden and I have been following her ups and downs via the forum. (Hope the ups have beaten the downs Stefan!) A change of job and need for a private car ag...
