Re: upside down excel
Also note that UK RHD cars coming to Europe (in most countries) are faced with an emissions tax and homologation certificate at a cost of 1000 Euros Not true, for homologation RHD or LHD is the same, it will cost around 150 euro to import it, only registration costs. Those prices are ridicules, the...

Re: Not running
Had a similar issue after MOT. Thing stopped a few times after running warm, started again when cooled down. Gave the guy who did the MOT a call to ask what he did. Got an apology from him, he reduced the fuel supply at the carbs to meet emission regulations but forgot to tell me. Drove back to him ...

Re: Anti roll bar strengthening kit
I sent a mail to Lotus a few years ago to ask if they had any information about my car (Lotus was the first owner). They replied that I had missed out on some recalls (the anti roll bar kit) and that I should contact a local dealer to get it fixed. If the parts are still available they probably will...

Check for air-leaks even if it runs OK now.
Had a similar issue, mine ran Good, went to crap, good again.
Was caused by a leaking hose to the brake servo.

Female Excel owners?
I was looking in the paperwork that came with my Excel and based upon bills/MOT forms made a list of previous owners. I already knew that Lotus cars Ltd was the owner for the 9 months/17000 miles. What I did not know was that one of the owners was female. That made me realise that this is a very mas...

Re: What happens to the paint?
Chipex will never match with metallic colors, it is close to impossible to get the same effect as with spraying. the chipex you applied is probably tpp dark. What you could try is fill the spot with chipex (as you probably have done), let it dry fully. Next apply a very very thin layer of chipex, le...
