Re: Purge Pump.. alternatives?

Perhaps the later jets made a difference but I never had a problem hot or cold. When it was hot I held the throttle open slightly when cranking but it never failed to start or gave a hint that it wouldnt.

Re: New member - new owner

This forum has a search button and very extensive, everything you are likely to know is here and you will get sensible advice. Facebook answers just disappear eventually. I threw off the facebook pages because some of the advice was questionable and I got fed up of people asking questions where the ...

Re: Elite Award for Safety

I would not recommend fitting an airbag system. Just to give you some of my background I was a forensic collision investigator and vehicle examiner for s police force. As such I went on alot of courses for airbags and was privy to some manufacturers secret 'stuff' on how they were configured. I coul...

Re: radiator fans..

In my TVR owning days ( well before I had the excel) my first 350 used to get a bit hot from time to time but the rad wasnt ducted at all so the the air could just spill around the sides instead of going thro it so I designed a duct not dissimilar to the excel and never had an issue afterwards. Pete...

Re: Rover V8 build log

Its the same depth as the edelbrock carb and fits on exactly the same bolts into the inlet manifold so the pancake filter can be reused and fits under the bonnet. Even the throttle cable fits. Its amazing how much has been packaged into the same footprint as a carb.

Re: Rover V8 build log

"can we have the next slide please"..... Although there looks to be lots of wires here, there isnt compared to many fuel injection systems. A plugged wire to the temp sender, coil wire, power wire, fuel pump wire and lambda wires. Some, I wont be using till I get it running ok like ignition control ...

Re: Rover V8 build log

They run either side of the sender when the unions are on. Ive got both pipes running to one side so that I can actually get the tank out again, plus theres is only about a 1 1/2" gap at the top so the tank has to be in the boot area so that you can get a spanner on them. Because the tank is square ...

Re: Replace dashboard bulb - how to and bulb brightness query

If you take out the wooden trim and the screws holding the metal instrument mount there should be enough slack in the speedo cable to push it thro the bulkhead and you can then get your hand behind the instruments to undo the knurled nob on the back of the speedo and the whole of the instrument pane...
