Its usually because they get full of fluff and debris not because its worn out. If you take it to pieces I would bet that the holding spring is clogged up, a clean with some brake or carb cleaner and a squirt of wd40 should get you sorted at no cost.

Re: Ignition barrel removal
Its a while ago but I had this problem once and it was the electrical part of the barrel which was easy to get off the end of the lock. I can't remember tho if the key had to be in the lock, I suspect not. Alternativly a 15 year old spotty scrote with a piece of scaffolding tube might assist.

The electrics on this car were crap, the rest of ...

Dont knock it lads, if he gets close to what he wants its good, provided its been sorted for the new owner. Been undervalued for far too long. Im also sure that there are a few of us on here who have spent that much over the years, and more.

Re: Rover V8 build log
Thanks for the comments, as for the injection, No, is the quick answer. I have got all the injection gear ready to go but the dilemma is why change when its running so well on the edelbrock 500carb and Ive totally got my head around how it works. On a purely asthetic note I think the carb setup look...

Re: Cam Carrier leak.
When mine did this a quite a few few years ago and I found a couple of loose fixing bolts and when I took the carriers off the threads had stripped, I dont know why or if a P.O. had overtorqued them but a couple of helicoils sorted the threads and new gasket sealant stopped the leak. I did have to u...
