Re: RIP Oliver Winterbottom

Pete, seeing as both your cars are in bits perhaps you could drop the TVR body onto the Lotus chassis and you could say they are both 'done'.

Ps, I'll give you a lift !

Re: RIP Oliver Winterbottom

Id be up for the springtime meetup but I suppose we will have to hope current events dont continue, it will no doubt have to be socially distanced.... if thats possible. Re: Lotus Elite Luggage

But... How much would it cost to have some made ?, And, if this had been for a posh fiat (ferrari) how much would they have cost ? I actually am really pleased that someone has paid proper money for these its a good indicator of how much they love their car, and no, it wasn't me. Bash (how much ?) P...

Re: 83 Excel from from Finland

Of course the choice is yours, but, one of the things that defines a Lotus is the suspension and going along the theory that Lotus really knew their stuff It took me years to get hold of some new old stock dampers so I could retain the standard springs too. Re: RIP Oliver Winterbottom

Where did Oli live, I was thinking (I know thats dangerous) if we cant do a sound off for him what about having a national memorial meet up near to where he lived when things settle down to show his family the regard that we all had for him.

Re: RIP Oliver Winterbottom

A great fella. Ive also owned an S1 TVR tasmin so we had a good chat about both cars, a very nice guy. If Covid wasnt an issue we could have travelled to his funeral and given him a 'sound off' exhaust blast as he went past on his last drive, I bet he would have liked that.

Re: Peter James Insurance price hike

Ive had a look, they should only fail a car if its near the fuel system or there is a risk of fire.......... Which means it open to interpretation by the tester, again !!!! Another interpretation is depending how much business the tester wants to drum up (dealer ?). I bet you can still pass a landro...

Im also offended, surely ex police officers should be on the list. I worked extremely hard at being a professional knob for over 29 years. Could you please edit your list and include me. Bash Ps, Im enjoying the sillyness here, its been sadly lacking of late and we have all been letting the club down.
