Same here. It broke at one end a couple of years ago resulting in a change of underwear! cant remember which end but the other did jam its self initially and sort of worked intermittently until i worked out the problem.

Re: Turning Circle

I have to do a bit of shunting in a tight area which is concerning enough with the Excel so the replacement (inside the garage) needs to be no more difficult although given that it will cost a bit more which will add to the parking frisson! Dolly's considered but not s...

Re: What do people think of your Excel

:D Even had one guy follow me home to have a closer look at it a mechanic who lives locally he was well impressed & could not believe it wasn't worth more . Had exactly the same happen to me not that long ago and also said he was motor trade and wanted to buy it. Somewhat disconcerting and could no...

Re: What do people think of your Excel

Even with the engine rebuild this year (done myself, but the parts and machining cost a fair few £££) I doubt Lilith will cost me this year what a 3-series would depreciate, let alone the other running costs. Well i can see that doing a lot of work yourself will save a lot as most of my bills are l...

Re: What do people think of your Excel

I tend to be viewed as a bit odd or daring depending upon the audience and how much they believe that it costs the same as a newish 3 series to run (including depreciation). Working in Cambridge it only really attracts the interest of middle aged oriental gentlemen and the occasional small child. St...

Re: Window lift channel - gauging interest

I would be up for a couple if only to put away for the future. Not sure of the condition of mine at present, a case of not wanting to look until i have to do the window frame.

Great news and fair price. I am happy to commit to a pair now once you have completed testing and are ready to take orders. Just wont be ready to fit until next year.

Re: Window frames - when would you buy ?

Sounding promising While i do not need then just now at that price i will buy a pair immediately and place in the parts store along with the piston/liner set etc. Cant risk them not being available when needed and having the car off road. Its bad enough that the its having an overnight stay this mon...
