Re: Club Lotus Track Day, Castle Combe 25th May
Same sort of deal to Sirclip, I have some used spares available! I'll bring them to Castle Combe if anyone is interested. Dual cap header tank with caps, it has a pinhole leak on the bottom seam (could probably be soldered) but is otherwise not in bad condition. You will need to transfer your own le...

Re: Leather Colouring
As Tony says but with Woolies https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-13-renovation I went with Woolies too. If you send them a sample from where the sunlight hasn't affected your leather, they will match it. My leather appeared to have darkened over the years. I found a suitable piece in my door card whe...

Club Lotus Track Day, Castle Combe 25th May
Anybody fancy this? I'm planning on going although not actually taking part in the paid track day laps.

Re: F Pipes splitting within a year?
Unfortunately, I had the same thing happen. The ones on the car when I bought it were split, and the genuine replacements I bought later on split within a year or two as well. So I came up with this, using small (I believe it was 4mm) inside diameter silicon hose, and those little T-piece type conne...

Re: New loudspeakers for 1985 Excel
Hi, I wrote the posts about fitting the new speakers and Bremen DAB Stereo. Provided you have the same front speaker grilles as me (these were standard on the later cars), the Alpine SXE-0825S speakers fit perfectly for the front. I'm not sure if earlier cars had something different though? Almost a...

Re: Grand Tourers Register
Another one popped up for sale in Coventry, I don't know if it was on the register already Tony? B484XVF. Some of the later C...XVF regs were factory owned cars used for magazine reviews, maybe this one has an interesting history too. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/382617777899809 You app...

Re: Front Brake Caliper seals
Thanks for that Tony. I've looked at it again and think I understand how it goes together now, with the long seal going through the caliper and just the concertina sections being visible either side. I bought the top slide seals (with the metal inserts) as well, so should be good to go. The Amayama ...

Front Brake Caliper seals
I had the common issue of one of my front calipers sticking recently, so took it apart, then cleaned and regreased the sliders. In the process, I noticed that a couple of the slider seals were beginning to split, so I used amayama.com to identify the correct Toyota parts and ordered them. Going by w...

Re: 89 my bonnet vents
My 1990 bonnet vent also came adrift, although not far enough to come into contact with anything! If I remember correctly, it needed some fibreglass cloth and resin to bond it back into place. It can be a bit messy so practice off the car first.

Thank you Richard and Dwayne. Did either of you find any debris or fuel gum inside your old pumps?

Fuel Pump failure
Yesterday I had my first Failure to Proceed in 16 years of ownership... The car started to lose power on the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road at Pwnt Uchaf - the "Highest Point" - 1350 feet. 30 seconds later I was coasting down a (very opportunely located) slip road. It was rather cold and get...
