Re: Spot what's missing!

Does anyone know what the torque settings are for the six oil pump bolts? I have done this before but can't find the info in my service notes. I used to have a paper copy but sold these in favour of an electronic copy so maybe I have a page missing. https://ams03pap002files.storage.live.com/y...

Re: Spot what's missing!

Could this be at the bottom of your ignition timing issues, or have you already sorted that? Pete I was thinking the same Pete. I found the cam belt was a bit loose and tightened it back up using a Krikit and that seemed to improve the problem a bit but it didn't fix it completely. The cam belt was...

With that damage to the pulley I suggest you inspect the Woodruff key and it´s seating in the shaft. Any slight damage and you need a new shaft, no point removing the sheared bolt.

Dave the cog.
Thats what I have been thinking. The key is damaged and the slot it fits in distorted.

Wow. Didn't realise the pulley was that loose!

You were lucky the belt stayed on.
The pulley and the key were jammed on and I needed a puller to get the pulley off.

Re: Spot what's missing!

I have removed the auxiliary housing and the shaft. Talking to Mike at Lotusbits, he can supply a replacement shaft and pulley. I will have a go at getting the bolt out, but I will still need a pulley. Ive got 2 old cam pulleys. Are they the same as the Auxiliary pulley? Housing with shaft and oil p...

Spot what's missing!

Changed the cambelt today and was just admiring my handy work when I noticed something was missing. https://dub01pap002files.storage.live.com/y4mP5S79u8A4cTpD3FappTkDV-BznuWIZ0mgUEb8KMVSftbGGQCwvbnXouN7d4MvmGlnQ94Jh7fewdTs-LEV4nyFiGe9PwX4ofVy4li3KNIilLt5xeCsfe2fV0sz2QU6atZzPg66CNGOUTeLgQZFe7PsCZmPI0...

I notice they have changed the way the passes are given out. They won't come in the post anymore we have to collect them.

Re: Best timing (Strobe) light

Regarding power source - I cut the crocodile clips off and connect a cigarette lighter plug. You can just plug it in the dash then and the wire is long enough.

I have seen that car a few times over the years. Below in 2013 at the Lotus Festival Brands Hatch. Can't remember if it was originally yellow or not. I know I have come across a yellow one somewhere that was originally red https://am3pap006files.storage.live.com/y4m6Y199CN_o6ibZiH6_ZJSSrfCJI3tRPv_3N...

Re: Celebration for sale

The Celebration first mentioned by Phil, H15XEL, and supposedly sold for £17K is in the Classic Car Auctions sale on 24th September. It is with a guide price of £12K - £15K. Something odd here. The CCA site even has the same photos. https://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/cca033-lot-5173-1991-lotus-ex...

Yes - I will still be going on the 25th. Potential attendees should have received an email that you should respond to, to say if you are still going or not.
