Re: Lotus in the Peak 2024
Thanks for the advice. Maria and I have booked the 'Classic Carlton Lees' Sunday morning run / Bamford entry. Plus Thornbridge breakfast and the raffle. We have previously booked the Manifold for Saturday and Sunday night. We will go onto to visit Matlock (Heights of Abraham) on Monday morning. We w...

Re: Lotus in the Peak 2024
So being a LITP newbie, do I get from this there will be nothing organized for during the day on Saturday? Maria was hoping to visit something in Matlock at some point on our travels and from this it looks like she could do that on the Saturday? In which case we will do that and plan the few days ei...

I also agree, if fact what attracted me to my Elite was that it had accumulated 150,000 miles over its 43 years when I bought it in 2022. Particularly that although it had got to around 100,000 when it had its ungalvanized chassis changed to a galvanized one and its engine fully rebuilt etc in the v...

The more of them like this I see the more I appreciate mine....and the more I admire those willing to have a go at raising them from the dead.

Re: Chapmans obsession with lightness
Yes, very good and correctly challenging of his regard towards driver safety. It brings in reference to road car weights with 'our wedges', where of course 'manufactured cost' was also more of a factor than for race cars and so he had less of an advantage over his competition (decent thickness 'dail...

Re: Elite 50th Anniversary - Banner / Display ?
Sorry guys I cant make this one (I'm at work (crisis)). Adam Wilkins did not reply to my e mail. Are we likely to want to try and get permission to 'drone video' the suggested CC Elite laps (maybe suggest it's 'wedge laps' in chronological order to try and get Elites up front of the wedge train?) I ...

Re: Lotus in the Peak 2024
Have booked to stay at the Manifold for the Saturday and Sunday night. Will probably link it with a few days work in Staffordshire before and after.

Re: Coolant leak - otter switch
Perhaps cut the finger off a 'rubber' glove to make a tube, hence avoid the join issue?

I seem to recall that my pressure cap setting was only 10 psi (before converting to Evans @ 0 psi). Not sure what's OE these days (is it in the service notes?), but 16 psi seems high. My other wedge (Clan) used only 4psi before converting that, too, to Evans @ 0 psi. I know some modern cars running...

That's really close! So how come that leather isn't covered in fingernail gouges, like mine is? Since I have neither the time nor enthusiasm to repair/replace the leather, I filled in all the gouges with black Sharpie over New Year, so at least they don't show up so horrendously (leather is dark gr...
