Black trim on the upper/lower body joint

Been looking at the parts that came with my car and found the two missing parts of trim used to hide the joint between the upper and lower halves of the body. On was for the door, so went back on with little fuss. The other one is a large section that runs form one the back of the front wings over t...

Re: Purge Pump.. alternatives?

Hi, I was reading that which was why I took a look at it, but I think the actual pump end is too far gone

Purge Pump.. alternatives?

Me again! looking at the purge pump it was obvious that it had been opened up, it was also obvious that it was not working when 12v was applied to it. I took it apart and found an old MFA (Model Flight Accessories!) motor in it, loose and not really attached to much and a lot of black dust.. the mot...

Re: Radiator fans..

Just found what appears to be brake fluid in the fan relay! Not sure how it has got there but it’s been in there some time judging by the corrosion.. but it seems to be the only one effected. However that still leaves the issue of only one fan running.. both do work, I have just checked again with t...

Radiator fans..

Just fitted the new alloy radiator, and along with it the fans.. While I was doing this I dropped a socket in the headlight pod area so had to put the battery on to get it out (as the headlights are out it was easier to just raise them) I forgot to disconnect it after, and when I plugged the radiato...

Re: Passenger side front indication and sidelight..

Hi Andy, I had the indicator unit out, and have redone the earth wiring, that is now soldered to the internal earth wire and taken out through the hole with the rest of them, it was all cleaned up and tested on the bench supply before refitting. The earth wire that should feed it does not appear to ...

Re: Bumper Mounting bolts, what size?

Those will be the ones, they are right behind the indicator units, just below and inside the holes for the indicator and sidelight wiring. I think the 2BA are the ones that are to the outside that hold the outer edge of the body to the side of the bumper?

Passenger side front indication and sidelight..

The above is not working, there seems to be no earth there or any signs of 12v on either wire that should have 12v, the rear lights and rear indicators and side repeaters are working

Bumper Mounting bolts, what size?

Hi, a very simple question.. the two bolts that hold the front bumper to the body that are behind the indicator units and done up from inside the head light recess, what size are they? (length and thread) They are missing from my car, (semi expected, it was in a semi dismantled state when I bought it)

radiator fans..

I have a nice new very shiny alloy radiator to fit to my car, the good news is that my radiator fans both work.. the bad news is my fan shroud is broken so when its fitted the left hand fan fouls the radiator, part of the top section is missing about 1/3rd of the left hand side. This is the post '89...

Re: Door Wiring loom

But does it pass into the shell of the door round the outside of the hinge into the door or the inside?, the outside makes more sence as there appears to be a cutout for it, but when I got the car the doors had been thrown back together for transport and they passed through on the inside and the loo...
