Re: Engine lost oil pressure.. again..
There is nothing inherently wrong with a +15 thou block.
Pete
Indeed, there is nothing inherently wrong with the block, unless you are trying to buy bearings for it. If thats the case I don't feel upto that particular set of fun and games for a second time and I have a strong suspision this ...

Engine lost oil pressure.. again..
Sadly I think my +15 thou engine is now terminal.. on Thursday while heading home the oil pressure became unstable.. and started to drop, by the time I had got home it was nothing (This occurred within 2 miles!). I have now checked with a mechanical gage and it really does have no oil pressure, and ...

Re: Interior leather colours
Yes, it is the light cream / beige colour I've used.
Their ultraclean does a pretty good job of bringing back the original colour, just depends how bad yours is.
I've tried to post some pictures for you to see the colour and results without success, images don't seem to paste into the reply ...

Re: Interior leather colours
I have just finished a complete restoration of my interior.
I had furniture clinic match the original colour from a sample of leather I sent them taken from under the rear seat that had no wear or exposure to sunlight.
If it is the beige colour you are after, I may have some spare colourant, if ...

Diff output shaft seals
I have just noticed there seems to be oil leaking from my differential output shaft seals, resulting in some oil spots being deposited. Today I had a look at the differential breather valve, after it was dug out of the crud that surrounded it, and it seems to have been a little gunged up but now ...

Interior leather colours
Just wondering if there was a list of the colours used for the leather in the excel, and who else used the same colours.. I need to get some recolouring dye to sort my seats and one door card out and if these colours were shared with some else using the same hides then that would make life easy ...

Re: Lack of low down power..
How did you find out that the big-end bearings were undersize for the job, any engine use like this will knock hell out of the crank.
Dave the cog.
The engine idled quiet nicely in that condition once the tappets had been set, however the pressure guage showed no oil pressure.
First check was ...

Re: Lack of low down power..
Hi Dave,
Yes the engine has just been rebuilt after a somewhat less than ideal rebuild by the cars previous owner.. (He used standard OD mains in an engine that should have the +0.015" OD mains.. this was less than ideal! and the valve clearances were 'interesting' the only bit I have not taken ...
