Engine Mounts
Was servicing the Excel and replacing the brake pads yesterday (so much easier rasing the car using Quick Jacks). But my happiness was short lived..... I discovered the left hand engine mount is not physically bolted to the engine block and all three bolts are missing  Can the mount be reconn...

It’s about 5mm thick rubber, flexible but hard wearing….it’s been scraped a few times
when measured from the bottom of the valance it 60 mm wide
also it is actually 7 mm thick

Re: 1992 Excel SE - getting stuck in
Interesting... Looks like nothing but a piece of flat rubber/plastic. My first reaction is, can I make it  I do have the band that fixes it. https://dub06pap001files.storage.live.com/y4mzU9QPB8mYRdFhkBGcDVm-ZJEuGph4eS61ZtlEDxv5qwsYnsrfmGE9hOkFV75uuFlbIntTpTaT3sgasWnsVv88IDaSqQGqcH94tIkl2y_BFe...

Quick Jacks..
Whilst I've been OK putting one end of the Excel up on jack, I didn't relay like doing all for corners. Unfortunately my garage is not suitable for a 2 post kit or similar and I need something that will be suitable to use o my drive. Therefore I've been toying with the idea of the Quick Jack system ...

Re: Power Steering Pump
If you end up sticking with the original pump, I've recently replaced my Holbourn pump with a re-conditioned unit from LB for £192 + vat when the pump seized two weeks ago.

Re: Power Steering Pump Seized
I almost followed your suggestion as I do love to take things apart and to find out what's failed but...... the replacement pump was on an exchange basis so I'd best send it back as it is without me breaking it any more

Re: Power Steering Pump Seized
I wish it was that simple, unfortunately the pump is well and truly seized. Got it on the bench, nothing fouling the pulley but it just won't turn! Also noticed the carrier/adjusting brake has a crack by the securing allen screw, so probably should replace that as well in case it breaks completely. ...

Power Steering Pump Seized
After just over a year of ownership I've finally had a roadside brake down and returned home on the back of a RAC truck (at least that saved some fuel  ) Was having fun belting down the M5 when the water temp started to go through the roof, luckily just before a junction so pulled off into a si...

Re: Coolant Expansion Tank Repair
Years ago I did a running repair (well ok may be a bodge job  ) on the carburettor of my Calivalier Sports Hatch, a round 1cm disc disc had fallen off permanently allowing more air into the carb by by a valve type thing. So at this time I had access to a substance called "Double Bond" a two pa...

Re: Breather pipe- bumper in place?
I was lucky and managed to replace the fuel breather pipe with the bumper on. One of the lower rivets securing the rear of the bumper was missing, this allowed me to feed the pipe into the bumper from the boot and carefully pulling down on the rear lower section of the bumper hook the fuel pipe. The...
