Re: 215/50r15 back in production

It is funny that you guys seem reserved about fitting the Pirelli tyre just because of the price. Of all cars where i would think you would be keen to keep the handling as good as possible i would have thought a Lotus would be one. so of all the components within the car the tyres would be the last ...

Re: Tyre Pressure?

Hi

Are you guys aware that Pirelli are now making the 215/50R15 P700-Z again for you guys?

They are also an Audi Quattro tyre so that helped us get them made again.

Re: Tyre sizes for Excel SE

The cost of the tyre has nothing to do with the value of the car they are to go on. I had a Jaguar XJ12. At the time i had paid £2,500 for it and a set of tyres was over £1,000. That car was a nearly 2 ton rocket ship that was beautifully comfortable. partially because it had good tyres. You can't j...

I don't think there is another perfect tyre other than the Pirelli P700-Z I was wondering if any of ...

Re: 215/50r15 back in production

Hmm well the problem is that the cost of tyres has nothing to do with the value of the car. the cost of the tyres is determined by a variety of things, and a Lotus is a fantastic handling car that really benefits from good high performance tyres, sadly they can only be built in very small batches, b...

Re: 215/50r15 back in production

there has been a Vredestein for a while but I would suggest fitting a proper classic tyre. The Pirelli P700-Z has a more suited period carcass design.

these are the real thing.

Re: 205/60R14 and tubes ? - 1974 Elite s1

Hi Catagorically inner tubes should not be used with any 60% profile tyres. 70% profile, fine. 75% profile fine 80% prpfile fine. 65% profile no tubes 60% profile no tubes If your alloy rims are becoming pourous then there are some sealers that your tyre fitting shed should have. The problem is that...
