Re: Oliver Winterbottom

Thanks for doing this. We all wish Oliver a full and speedy recovery and look forward to his next Words.
(I wonder if he's had time to sketch any concepts whilst recovering?)

Re: Fitting drilled & grooved discs

Brakeparts list a Mintex option for the Supra MA61 / Celica 2.8 - BPS 1216, currently on order, not clear which compound.
Unhelpfully the Mintex 'brakebook' catalogue does not list the Excel under Lotus and does not reach far enough back under Toyota Supra to include the MA61.

Re: Body/chassis clearance - Excel

Or perhaps you have stacked up so much additional knowledge over time you now need to assist your internal filing system occasionally?

Re: EXCEL HANDBOOK

Ah, yes. That was probably me after discussing with Rachael (older daughter). She is an Art graduate with an interest in book binding. Rachael investigated scanning the content of an existing handbook, cleaning it and printing it plus making copies of the original vinyl-covered binding. Then she got...

Ah, The CTEKs seem to use a fairly low charging voltage whereas Optimates can kick up to 20V.
I think I know why my battery died.

Re: Odyssey Battery 925 or 1200 or Varta silver

I'm not sure which battery type you went for. My experience (and other members of the same club) of using an Optimate conditioner for 12V motorcycle batteries (including AGM) is that leaving the conditioner permanently connected and operational shortens battery life. I changed to a trickle charger o...

Re: Coolant mixing or condensation?

I had a close look at my liners and ran my fingers up the bore to check for stepping and they seemed fine, so I pulled out the old studs, put in the new ones, fitted the new composite gasket and put the cylinder head back on. The car seems fine since then. I checked the valve clearances after replac...
